music to use in banners?

I'm quite sure than most people who use music in their banners which is copyrighted are not licensing the music for use in the banners.

So, why do you bitch and complain about stolen content and yet when it comes to the theft of music it's a different story?

I've asked this many times.

B/c nobody really cares unless it directly effects their pocketbook, they just want to bitch about it for the moment.

I agree, some sponsors also use unlicensed music in the videos for their sites.

If someone was robbing your neighbour you would be more upset than if you heard on the tv that some random guy got robbed.

I'm not sure about this but I have heard that if you use short musicclips less than 20 seconds you don't have to pay royalities.

Doesn't seem right... maybe if you use the 20 seconds for the purpose of promoting the music, then yea, but I doubt you can use a 20 sec clip in a tv commercial.
