Mastercard stops processing for on-line pharmacies

Too bad for those International pharmacies, or form based sites. Visa will be following suite.

Frank The Tank 03-31-2004 08:15 AM

pornJester 03-31-2004 08:15 AM

Good, maybe the spam will stop too.

sperbonzo 03-31-2004 08:16 AM

details? sources?

polish_aristocrat 03-31-2004 08:18 AM

Wtf? :eek2 :eek2 :eek2

That sucks !

Not that I support online prarmacies, i don't care about them, but it is an example that they could also stop processing porn.

Pharmacies must be making them nice profits too, but neverthless they decided to stop processiing for them :eek7

Online pharmacies represent such an insignificant amount of money to CC companies. They are illegal in some areas and are barely legal in others. The revenue generated from sales isn't worth the liability for the CC companies. I doubt porn will follow the same route. There are too many people who like to visit porn sites to alienate them

Sorry, but you are WAY, WAY off.

Online adult represents about 0.3% of VISA revenues (that's 3 tenths of one percent), Walmart, by itself, processes 5 times more through VISA than all the adult on the intenet.

At the same time adult internet is responsible for as much as 20% of fraud and chargbacks. Why should VISA MC keep on processing adult? Would you? The credit card companies couldn't care less about "alienating" people that like to visit porn sites either, they have a much bigger issue with not hurting their corporate image.

Amex pulled out of adult years ago......just you wait:2 cents:

this fucking sucks

Cyborg 2.0 03-31-2004 08:32 AM

that sucks we might be next

Gemini 03-31-2004 08:33 AM

It doesn't matter if they are illegal in 'some areas"... it's against Federal Law. Don't know why they didn't crack down a long time back but its basically the same premise with online tobacco in a way. They will be next. They aren't collecting and paying the state sales taxes as law dictates.

About 6 weeks ago the Feds seized a tractor trailer at the Canadian border bringing 'legal' drugs in... thats against Federal Law as well. lol In fact when your Granny boards the bus to go up and fill her scripts she just became a felon as the bus rolls back over the border. Stupid eh?

What gets me even more... is the Fed saying filling a prescription is DANGEROUS. Are we sending contaminated pills up there or something to begine with?!?! "Quote - You don't KNOW what you are getting - Unquote" lmao Its the same stuff they dispense here, just that it says 'eh' alot more when you open the bottle. lol

On line pharmacies are very profitable. They are what porn was a few years ago. They will be more profitable than porn in the near future.

If you ran a program that was shut down, send me an email. I happen to follow all guide lines, and I am 100% DEA compliant. I could set up an advertiser program. MC has also stated rules on how that will work, and I am 100% compliant in that area also.

the Fed's are going 2 go after ones selling certain drugs, pain killers 2 name one. don't know if they have it yet but they are going 2 have a bot do searches.

shogun3k 03-31-2004 08:48 AM

sweetcuties 03-31-2004 08:48 AM

That's not the point, the point is the percentage of male cardholders who wish to join an adult site at some point in their lives. Any CC company in their right minds will NOT alienate these customers. I have read that it is upwards of 50% of male customers who will join at least one site in their lives. Why does everyone love "THE SKY IS FALLING" threads so much?

This thread is the most creative spam I have seen in a long, long time. Nice job. :thumbsup

Porn is not going to be shut off, and compliant on-line drug services are not going to be shut off. Just the ones that coast in the darker sides of the grey areas, and obviously the illegal ones.

Didn?t mean to start a ?the sky is falling? thread.

hydro 03-31-2004 08:55 AM

im sure visa and mc will stop processing for porn soon, but with them doing so there is alot of $ to be made. One could setup a credit based system for gaining access to porn sites. The credits could be bought with a bank wire, money order, or through western union. Then the service would send the money to a site owner and just keep a fee. Even if the fee was $5 that is still alot of money when you think about how much porn people buy. Chargebacks would be very low as well. I dont think carders would go through the trouble of getting a bank account just for porn when there is kazaa.
