I bet there are others making a killing besides Exxon.. It seems to me that everybody is taking a larger piece of the pie. 2.00 a gallon blows!

Jer 03-31-2004 08:10 AM

You guys have no idea how cheap gas is in the USA.

A gallon here it's like $2.70, and USA people make way more money than brazilians.

Another good reason to work at home!

stocktrader23 03-31-2004 08:22 AM

Yeah, if you owned Exxon Mobile you'd just lower the prices to clear 1 million a year.

I could care less how much they make, I just don't agree with the shady shit that is done by our government to keep the profits up.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh a gallon over here is about $5.50 - so why do you complain?

That is so true. We've got the cheapest gas in the free world.

The Tax on gas is high - and of corse Kerry wants to raise it another 50. cents.

I'd much rather see American Oil companies making money than see them hurting. If they aren't making money, we WILL start paying more for gas.

Don't bitch about it -- go out and buy a hybrid. Get a tax break and save yourself a grip on gas.

As soon as they come out with one that's not ugly as shit and twice the price of the same car when it's gas-powered, that's what I'm gonna do... :1orglaugh

Dude, I already drive a hyundai elantra. Paying for gas pisses me off enough.

I get 28 city / 35 highway on my manual and I work from home. Try living in texas where every other vehicle is an SUV. No wonder exxon made $21 billion

Volantt 03-31-2004 12:07 PM

Less dependent on OPEC = Cheaper gas prices.

TODAY: OPEC cuts production by 1 Million barrels a day. Do you think that lowers our price at the pump. Nope!

V

P.S. My parents are huge stock owners in Exxon, they don't mind the profit levels. :thumbsup

Sly_RJ 03-31-2004 12:10 PM

They're making 10% profit. Those bastards!

Giorgio_Xo 03-31-2004 12:11 PM

Careful with the Fortune list, it doesn't list stats correctly. This is total revenue for public companies. Profits here aren't read as free cashflow.

Microsoft is the most 'profitable' public company in the world. It makes $9 billion in free cashflow a quarter and had over $50 billion in the bank!

Screaming 03-31-2004 12:11 PM

you guys cant tell me this comes as a shock, i mean look at the world today

Joetanto 03-31-2004 12:14 PM

don't like the price, don't drive. I don't think the price is that bad.

Pleasurepays 03-31-2004 12:16 PM

more room for me on the road in my Escalade.

detoxed 03-31-2004 12:17 PM

You realize they have nothing to do with setting gas prices, and government charges 36 cents plus 35 cents plus 7.5%, in California at least.

myjah 03-31-2004 12:51 PM

make money money...thats what we are all out to do. be interesting to know what the difference is between profit margins from the year before
