Domains just suck !!

Back in 2000 Register.com had a one day 1$ promo with staples for new registrations.
I took a list of free names I found (targeted to what I was looking for) and registered about 1,500 of them.
Cost - 1,500$
Three months later I sold the first one for 8k.
Since then I sold names from that package for about 500k, and I still have most of them.
They were never for sale or on the market and I always used them in my biz.
Today I sold yet one more from that package.
So if you think domains are dead, think again.

That's some good numbers - how have you been selling them?

All buyers for this package came from whois inquiries.
These are also not traffic names, but they are unique and therefore had what I thought would make them valuable.
They still are, and people are still asking about them.

Sounds like you thought ahead, congrats.

Every month I register about 300-500, many good ones.
A friend of mine came up with an idea about eight months ago, registered a bunch of free domains, and today they make over 1k/day.
I found out about this by myself 3 months ago and since then, spent about 5k on free names and make about 5k/month on this new package now.
Good domains are out there every day of the week if you know what you're doing.

That said, I'm still buying allot from resellers as well.
Good deals are also out there if you just know how to value a good deal.
Try comparing this to other investments and you'd see that there's still no better investment then domain names.
At times, I make such a high return on them (even on today's sale) that I'm having a hard time putting it in % numbers :)

I am curious, how do you make profits from names that you registered few monhts ago.
I doubt type-in domains were available for a simple registration, so if these are not type-in names, then how do you make steady profits from them?
I doubt you have the time to develop all of them.

They are actually type in names.
It's more of a science to find them and allot of experimenting. I may lose some money trying to find some that work but at the end of it, I usually find enough that pay for those that don't.
