Mad skills is always good, but I know tons of really talented people who if they applied themselves would be famous or millionaires by now.

Without other elements like drive, determination, responsibility etc, talent can go to waste.

However someone with half the talent but with other traits could be a lot more successful.

My husband was and is an entrepreneur when he was younger he got computers into schools in Australia and started some very successful companies doing things no one had done before.

From what I've seen and heard and read of his experiences - I would have to say that in order to be a succesful entrepreneur the most important thing is to be able to read emerging trends and to use those in new ways to create something that will be popular, unique, and returning good $$.

the ability to delegate.

shepherd 03-29-2004 08:47 PM

There are many factors that make an average entrepreneur a great one.
The most important one is being committed. The ability to never give up even if things go downwards for a while.
My very best recommendation to really understand this concept is "Think and grow rich" by Napoleon Hill.
Read the book and thank me later :)

That helps, but the important thing i delegating is having the right eye in finding that person to delegate to.

thats what i said ;)

What most people seem to forget is that the reason for succes comes down to only one thing: hard and smart work.

Just being smart and creative is way overrated: everybody in this world has ideas. good ideas. Go ask 10 random burger flippers
and youll be amazed by the outcome.

So what makes the difference between an entrepreneur and a burger flipper? Actually doing IT.

And what makes the difference between a successful entrepreneur and a entrepeneur? Doing it multiplied.

And for that we need to delegate. And most important part of the art of delegating is finding the right people. But compared to doing everything by yourself thats a piece of cake.

Yep...that goes along with focus.

One of my bigger problems throughtout the years...still to this day I have to remind myself to just see through what is ahead of me today before I move on.

Exactly. The only difference between a dream and a goal is a timeline.

I think focus is very important.

Do too many different things at once, all half-assed, you're not going to get ahead. Focus on just one or two things, get them mastered and running smoothly, then move to the next.

Recently I've dropped some projects and it really seems to be helping out with my progress on others.
