Better CTR's with Googles new look & Adwords!

Has anyone else noticed higher click through rates since google changed the look of things?

They made the 'Sponsored Area' ads look less like ad banners and more like a part of Google's results :thumbsup

With PPC doesn't improving CTR equal lower conversions, since some people will think they're part of the search results?

insanesurfer 03-29-2004 05:10 PM

I have got more clicks but not a super lot more.

I think some people (used to) just block out that right column by default knowing they are paid ads.

Have no proof but this would be sweeeeeeet if true, setting up a big adwords campaign as we speak for a mainstream client (dental products)...with profit sharing on conversion of course.

I could see it happening though, you are right, they really made the adwords look more like true "results" when displayed in the SERPS, unlike the old layout that felt like the Adwords were "small hahahahahaded pop-up ads" that people generally frown upon.

FF!

How much are you spending? It's all relative.

Ah, but they are part of the search results...

You wouldn't have paid good money to list your ad in that keyword slot if you didn't think that people searching for that keyword would be interested in your product or service.... would you?

I think the bottom line is: More clicks = a good thing.

- If you have good marketing and a fantastic product/service that is relevant to the users search to back it up with anyway.

Bit early to tell but up nearly an average of 1% compared to before the change for my campaigns.

Right, but they are not encased in their own banner-ish boxes.

I liked google's adword like they were. They aren't missleading and they are making google MAD bling :)
