Hellboy is on my "To See" list and it's a very exclusive list. I just can't believe Ron Pearlman is playing the Hellboy character! When the first preview came out I knew exactly who it was and that kinda ruined it for me. I'll still go see it though just because of Selma Blair! Yowsa!!! I
me some Selma Blair!!!

For those who read the comics, have you noticed that they never show his stone hand in the previews. Look closely, and you'll see that they actually try their hardest to exclude it from the trailer shots. Hmm...me thinks they have a nice grandiose entrance scene set up for the stone hand.
*Note, the fact of me mentioning he has a stone hand should in no way affect your viewing pleasure. I didn't feel like a "spoiler warning" was in order.

Okay, I'm back.
All in all, I'm glad I didn't pay to see that movie. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. It was an okay popcorn movie, fairly cheesey with some humor and so/so special effects. My reccommendation is to wait for the DVD.
If you like good comic book movies you probably won't care for it much. If you like not so good comic book movies like The Rocketeer or Hulk, you might like it.Comment

Yah, I don't mind CGI when it's good CGI like in X-Men or Spider-Man but this is bad CGI like in Hulk. 100% CGI demons look more fake than when they used to do it with animatronics and a guy in a rubber suit.Originally posted by stevecore
i saw the sneak preview last weekend... it was okay. nothing too spectacular and heavy relies on CGI to push the story forward.
The Corpse at the end of the film was animatronic like the Crypt Keeper and he looked okay.Comment

The movie is far from being deep. Pretty sappy stuff.Originally posted by Ian
Thanks Rictor.
I was hoping that they might have done better.
Tell ya the truth, I think this character is just way to deep for Hollywood.
Maybe too deep for me even within the comic world.
