why would a "free" submission require you to enter your credit card information?

Seems like an old trick that a pornographer shouldn't fall for

Depends if he paid for submission at some earlier time. They setup an account and keep your details on file so they can hit you up for those 600 bucks each year.

you must log in to yahoo and then you'll get this link http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request

Enter the full URL, including the http:// prefix (for example, http://www.yahoo.com) of the site you would like to submit. Enter only the top-level page in your site, our crawler will explore the rest of your site from there. We will automatically detect and remove dead links on an ongoing basis.

Please expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled.

Yeah they have our credit card on file. Fucking bullshit though nowhere did they say they were going to charge a fee. Fucking assholes. We did over 3k in chargebacks before with them, I hate Yahoo.

SomeCreep 03-29-2004 03:06 PM

you gave yahoo your CC info? If it was really a free listing, they wouldnt ask for that :1orglaugh

nojob 03-29-2004 03:07 PM

yahoo is scammin lol great whats next?

alan-l 03-29-2004 03:09 PM

:(
Chargeback. Reason? Deceptive service. If it says free it must be free. You'd even sue them for inapropriate use of data with money loss

They have our credit card info on file because of awhile ago when we did paid submissions. So I guess they are just going to attempt to charge that card.
