yeah okay 20k my ass

sacX 03-29-2004 12:34 AM

nice domains, owner should have them going to AFF instead of FF :)

shepherd 03-29-2004 04:11 AM

No, not joking.
It's priced fairly at 20k, not high at all.
It's too bad most people still can't see gold when it's in front of their eyes.

Hal 03-29-2004 04:22 AM

20k sounds a bit high, but i wouldn't be suprised if this domain makes the 20k back in a year or less

They don't have to, as long as the buyer's don't know much either. :)

If you think it makes it back in 1 years, then why do you think it is overpriced?
I'd value that domain name for less than $20k though...well - simply "ladies" is a quite general term and you never know what are the visitors exactly looking for.

polish_aristocrat 03-29-2004 04:29 AM

And a question to integrated - what is more valuable - *************** or sexyladies.tv ?

Living For Today 03-29-2004 04:36 AM

I would say not worth 20k but is a good type in name I would think.

SomeCreep 03-29-2004 04:38 AM

20k for that domain is high, even at auction. Try getting 10k, you might have more luck.

sacX 03-29-2004 04:39 AM

i'd be interested to see how well it did with friendfinder.. pitty it's not using a tracking url.

You gotto be fucking kidding me.

Is it 20k pesos ?

shepherd 03-29-2004 04:48 AM

People were dumb before.
They were laughing when I posted flahsers.com
They were laughing when I posted sexywomen.com
They were laughing when I posted massivecock.com
All three sold for five figures each.

Keep laughing, those who are smart enough to see the value don't need me to explain this to them.
And do I preach something I don't practice? Far from it. I still own over 15,000 domains myself.

He's not kidding, i think shepherd is KRL's business partner.
You don't have to buy that domain, I won't either, but someome perhaps will.
It's definitely better than the domains that are posted here everyday.

yeah but definately not 20k
I'd say 5k tops.

sexywomen.com and massivecock.com are good domains though.

What do you think people mean when they type "***************"?
Not too hard to figure it out.
Target it to that niche. Assuming you can convert it at 1:500 (should be pretty easy) then you make around 500$/month
Less then a year and you get more then 5k.
Try valuation on three years, expected traffic growth, then you get to 20k.
This is without considering the resale value, brand value, and the value it has if you build your own site.

sacX 03-29-2004 04:58 AM

the whois info for sexywomen.com must be incorrect then because it hasn't changed :)

much like men.com

shepherd 03-29-2004 05:01 AM

Sacx,
I'll let KRL explain why men.com hasn't changed. He already did in the past I believe.
As far as sexywomen.com, it is in escrow. Was purchased by one of the best guys in the biz.
Expect something nice on this domain.

seems a bit long for escrow, but I don't dispute the value, and hence the sale, i'd buy those domains for 5 figures myself if they were still on the market.

Pick up a similar name with 2 words for 7 bucks, spend 800 on a design, spend 5k on content, make a killer paysite and put 14k in your pocket.

This isnt exactly men.com, surfers dont give a shit if its ***************, sexy-ladies.com or sexyladiez.com.

Naughty 03-29-2004 06:12 AM

I sell smtoy.com for 10k+ also.

[first time thread squatting, sorry]

a lot of the value of *************** is the typeins, the brandability is just a bonus.

do you expect traffic growth or rather traffic decline on .com type-in domains?

What you described is called "WORK".
When you buy a type in name, your work ends once you find the sponsor to direct the traffic to.

Polish, from my own experience with my names, traffic goes up for the last few years.

AVM 03-29-2004 06:54 AM

Hi Sal,

I signed up for your domain auction site - Yet never received confirmation on my registration. :( My username before getting banned on Rick's was ad-lib. I'd appreciate access, as on some rare occasions - I am willing to match/exceed what some of the big players offer.

Take care.

I never asked the seller why he is selling it. I'm sure he has his own reasons, wether it is personal or other business opportunities, it's none of my business :)

Hi Mike,
I didn't see your registration. Can you sign up again?
cheers
Sal.

Yup, 250 people a day looking for sexy ladies, just like the rest of zillion internet surfers.

This isnt generic viagra theyre looking for dude. If someone is looking for that and types it in good chance they will buy it right away but come on, sexy ladies, thats as general as it gets.

DarkJedi 03-29-2004 07:06 AM

If I had $20k to piss off, i'd invest them in a way that would bring a bit more than $5k a year.

btw, who would actualy type in "sexy ladies" ?
kids or some retards.

and even if it's such a good name, why don't you keep it for yourself ?

shepherd 03-29-2004 07:08 AM

Battuss,
If you decide not to see the value it's cool, but it's still there.
I know from my own experience and the experience of many of my friends, domains are still one of the very best investments one can buy.

I doubt it is really available.
There must be a bug in the .tv WHOIS registry again.
I think integrated owns it.
