Eureka! I've found a way to save America. We need an 'ASS TAX'
 

What's an 'ASS TAX'? It's a tax on how fat our asses are getting in America.

Here's how it works:

Everybody goes to the local DMV and gets weighed. We pay a percentage per pound. Every year we get weigned again and any additional weight is additional tax revenue.

By my calculations we would eliminate the national debt in a month. Once people see how much money they're losing from fat ass they'll diet thus eleviating the strain on our hospitals from fat related diseases. They'll also eleviate the consumption of fossil fuels as vehicles will burn less due to the less weight.

Investing in sports equipment will rise but in the short term and long term the republic will thrive.

I figure we should adjust it to percentage of bodyfat. If you are 10% bodyfat then that's what you pay, 10% of your income. If you're 50% bodyfat then you pay 50%.

By the time the figuring got done the government would make so much money it would be stupid. On the other hand if the citizens got fit they would be spending so much on health food and sports/exercise equipment including clothes and such that the companies would then be able to fork over enough tax revenue too.

We'd have the healthiest nation in history within a year.
