About Selling Sigs....

Why would someone sell their sig for $100 or less when they can use it for their own advertisement...... if its actually worth that much...

now i understand the once in a while deals that go through with large amounts of money,,, those are good marketing strategies.... but i dont get why people sell their sigs for 10 bucks,,,, 20 bucks,,, 30 bucks....

$5 submissions 03-27-2004 07:58 PM

I'm actually interested more in trading my sig for MPG content :)

I wouldnt if i was you... the services you run are great, and are only dedicated to webmasters.... and i think you're better off keeping your sig because new people register to this board every day that look for services you provide....

I too think you should keep yours, unless someone offer something you CANT refuse.

you are your best frontman for your stuff, esp in your case.

Then again, those that are here know $5 Submissions very well. When someone asks for outsourcing services, his name is always recommended by others.

I've haven't used his service yet, but I've recommended it to others at least ten times based on all the good things I've heard about his program.

I think the smaller guys sell their sigs for a small wad of cash because it's easy. Not everyone has their own service/program to promote in their program. If you're only doing 2-3 posts a day, it's alot easier to take $100 and forget about it then to put a button that everyone else has in your sig and cross your fingers that someone worthwhile clicks and signs up.

Abyss_Vee 03-27-2004 08:07 PM

People put so much effort in getting 50 bucks for their sig...... its sad....

They waste hours posting to get the 50 bucks.... is your time not worth more then 50 bucks??????????????????????

correct me if im wrong.

what are the chances of someone that posts 2 or 3 times a day to get 100 bucks for their sig?

its sad,, people with 10,000 posts are asking for like 100 to 200 bucks....

small guys like you should save your time and figure out your next step.... not waste your time to get that 50 bucks...

Most of the people selling sigs aren't webmasters, or even in this industry, or a minor. So $50 for doing nothing is cool for them.

take your pick :Graucho

seriously tho, most sigs aren't worth anything unless the sponsor/person buying it knows the seller personally and trusts them to fulfill the deal

I didnt spend much time for the SELLING of my sig. And since I post here anyway, sporting a good sponsor is just a compliement to that. Wont take time away from all my next steps. :)

For a 15 year old in HS that can get his mom to buy 5 packs of smokes and resell them to his buddies for double - then buy a bunch of weed and resell that... it sure does.

Er.... who would so such a thing? :winkwink:

last month, the chances were good that someone with a low postcount would get a $100. playboy cash and platinum bucks both snapped up a shit load of sigs at the last minute from a bunch of people. i don't know if they'll do it again though.

i know someone here who has consistantly received $100 a month for the last 4 months and their postcount just hit 1000 within the last week or two.

it's an easy $100 for doing something you'd do anyways.

also, i have not seen a single person with more than 10K posts ask for $100-$200.

a 15 year old shouldnt even be in this board.... much further get their sponsors in trouble for having a minor advertising for them :2 cents:

Hey, it is business. If I ran an affiliate program doubt that I would sell my sig space. But, what the hell, to get paid to post on a forum that one likes to and not to get some money when offered is really stupid.:)

Or are they asking for to much for their sig and/or behavior on the board just makes us laugh?
