what is a mail server used for
 

i have this tech guy taking care of my server and he's using it for mail.

why does he need to use my server for mail?

im suspicious. also he has other ppl using my server for mail.

let me know whats going on.

There is a distinct possibility this is happening, I remember one tech guy that was on the lam from the U.S. Secret Service and the RCMP that had 'helped' a friend with her mail account and was then using it as his for the longest time without her knowledge, at least until the Secret Service brought it to her attention. :1orglaugh

Look around Google Groups and see if there are any posts in news.admin.net-abuse.email with your domain.

Yes nitwit they could. But they can also use the server to host mp3, illegal dvd's or CP. And yes they can spam with it.
