Table Width= 800
Is this a good size to use for like a tgp table?
I am out of the loop with the web standards these days tbh. |
I always stick everything into a 650 width Juicy, keeps AOL users happy too :)
|
when I do the very little design that I do, I almost always do it with %.
table width=xyz% .. etc. I'm so far behind on the web standards as well.. so this is likely the wrong answer. |
i'm not sure what is BEST... but i always use either 650 pixels.. or a fixed %.
|
use 772 pixels, almost everyone uses a higher than 800x600 res nowadays
|
With 740 you'll be safe.

740 or less
740 fits in 800x600 perfectly. |

25%+ are still using 800x600 so it's probably too early to ignore them and 770-odd pixels is the maximum visible with a vertical scroll bar at that resolution. I think it looks better not to entirely fill the screen, so I usually work within 750 pixels.
To cope with all the resolutions, when you aren't restricted by graphics, it's much better to work in percentages: not just for the table dimensions, but for text sizes too. That way you keep everyone happy. |
760

760 with 0 margins :)
740 is the standard. |
I like to keep mine at width=750 or so, just for padding ...
... I was looking at my surfers screen sizes via sextracker yesturday, over 50% of my surfers were in 768x1024. Joe |
