do you know your market- "who is your first customer?"

they will want to hear an exit strategy- how do they get the money back?

what exactly are you gonna spend the cash on? you should do a cash flow analysis.

having spoken with vc's the big thing they are looking at is YOU. can they trust you with this cash? show them past success, they love serial entrepreneurs.

you dont need luck, you just need preparation! but good luck.:glugglug

Make sure you have all your angles covered - if not on paper then in your mind. Be prepared for all possible questions - make sure you've taken into consideration worst/best case scenarios.

Break a leg!

Good for you! Continue to break a leg ;-)

If you have it in PDF format, I'll take a look at it Chowda before your presentation and give you a good opinion on it in case it needs tweaking.

Chowda,

I worked for a venture capital firm in the late 90's early 2000s.

Here's my tip:

Always mention what your "exit strategies" are. The more the better but keep them realistic.

Also, you have to sell them on the idea that you will manage their money efficiently so they can get the most bang (no pun intended) for their buck.

There's really no need for fancy graphics but your idea must be concise, backed up by real numbers, and you can sum it up in less than 30 seconds (the "elevator pitch" method).

Best of luck!

Yup, you know what you are talking about here! I was involved in that too for a couple of years, and keeping it simple is the way!

chowda 03-28-2004 12:20 AM

thanks for everyone's response.

there are soo many ways of approaching this that im trying to get it all into words.

A problem for me is that im pretty dry for ideas right now and they are no help in terms of theme or niche.

Gene was right about real numbers and exit strategies. The only semi good thing about these investors is that they do some adult dvd distribution so if the content doesnt float online, selling it in the dvd market (like bang bros) could be an easier strategy.

Almost nobody cross-sells the dvd and online markets. Maybe you need to think about that as part of your business model.

Also talk to us about themes and niches, we know what people are looking for. http://www.PhotoGregg.com
