I would ask them to pay for my way to Vegas...especially the bus trip across town.

I'd of course try to talk them into a monthly pass...that way I could continue to benefit from it after the show.

Conventions are like crack. Once you go to one you want to hit them all. Meeting people, talking, and learning... it's really incredible.

Just sitting around with a bunch of woozy guys talking about business... you really learn a lot and pick up all kinds of tips.

for the same reason someone sucessful would sell there sig on gfy? why wouldnt they? isnt one of the golden rules of being sucessful keeping the money you have?

I don't honestly see any benefit in going to a show other than the experience of travel.

I'm a little skeptical about what it would do for my business, though I am prepared to be proved wrong. :)

From what I have seen it's just a bunch of screwing around and hanging out.

But I don't know that from first hand experience.

So yeah, if someone sported me a trip there, I'd go. But I don't see myself going to a convention anytime soon. :2 cents:

Though i was trying to convey in my post that I know nothing about conventions in general, so I could be wrong...

conventions are great. its good to be around a ton of people who know wtf you are talking about. great to network, to get away from computers, and they are at great places. good fuckin food, always a fun time for the most part.

I would still keep my ass at home which is what I chose to do instead of agreeing to go to Phoenix.

Then again, I have been in a hermit-like, disagreeable mood. Hopefully I'll get over it before the next big show. :(

Another thing, people take you more seriously if they talk to you face to face. And it's not just "chatting", you meet the people you do business with. Hell, offline companies fly around the world to do that.

You want someone to buy thousands of dollars worth of traffic from you? Show them that you're a real person and you're ready to do serious business.
