Have you ever just up and quit your job?
Without any kind of plan or idea of what the fuck you were gonna do next?
And I mean in adulthood, not some 16 year old "I wanted to get high with my friends" bullshit. I'm talking about like a real job, where it just grates on your nerves too fucking long and you just reach a point where you don't give a fuck anymore, you'd rather weather the storm and see where the wind takes you than spend another minute working there.. |
Yep after about 7 years of managing for Taco Bell I had given my 2 weeks notice before..but supervisors changed and 1 had talked me into staying until they found a replacement...anyway I got tired of waiting..one morning I just phoned my assistant and told him to get to the store that I was never going back...LOL
thats why i always kept an emergency account in the bank. because i would last only a year or so before i tired of a job
Every job I ever had.

In 1988 I discovered I was making more money at the weekends shooting naked woman than I did all day selling advertising.
Yep I left my job just cause I didn't feel like it anymore.... aka Peter "Office Space" style.
No, I allways found a job first.
in the next few months i'll be selling off my investment advisory business... i guess that's kinda quitting
I think I am doing that monday..... I cant take it anymore, lol
I'll have to office space outta there |
I quit my job and with not much more than pocket money, hitch-hiked to London. I spent the first night in a railway station, but I was lucky enough to get a job the day after. About 3 years later I quit that too (although this time with an idea of what I was going to do next) and I haven't had a boss in close to 30 years.
Yup. Just quit a good ass System Admin position two weeks ago. Living off the savings I have and preying I find something else soon. Just bought a new car a few months ago too.
NOTE: Linux System Administrator with 7 years experience in the Internet Business for hire. ICQ: 3876145 |

I once worked at Radio Shack. District Manager kept giving me shit about shaving, even though I shaved every morning. So, one day, she came in and told me that if I wasn't clean shaven the next time she came in, she would demote me to cleaning floors. I told her she should lead by example and shave her pussy. I was looking for work the next day.
been there once and its good you have a penny at the bank. you'll never know when you'll get one... been working my butt out happily being the lord of your own company and just see to it you manage it properly. Save baby :thumbsup
I have been lucky in that sense, never had a job I didn't enjoy. :glugglug
yup. worked as a mechnical engineer for about 3 years with this F'ed up company, making some decent $$ and one day just had enough of the BS from my boss. he said if you don't like it here, you can always quit...i left his office, packed a box and on the way out with it told him i took his advice...adios amigos! lol
THEN had to tell the wife...that was the scarriest part... |

No, I usually like to give the employer some notice, after all I expect the same courtesy :2 cents:
I worked as a telemarketer for a while. Goddamn. It's like you can feel your soul slipping away a little more every time you try to peddle some shitty wares to some poor unsuspecting sap. Used to work there with a mate of mine. We just turned to eachother one day and said fuck this, got up and left.
Most awful job ever. |
When I was 18 I was working in a bank and running a computer hardware and software supply biz to the Government and Education Department/Schools. I was trying to win tenders in my lunch hour that were worth ten times my yearly salary. When I won exclusive tenders for the whole of the state that put everything into perspective and I quit my day job! :)

I was running a company that the owners decided to 'shut down' and was offered to go work at another company of theirs - but they were 'letting go' the 6 employees under me that put their heart & many overtime hours to make them 'mega money'. I told them no thanks. Been out of a job for about a year now, both my husband and myself (since we worked together). It's been tough with 2 kids, a house and a car - but it wouldn't have been right to go to take the job while the others were left out on the street. I'm fucked up, I know. :-)

Once, I had been working as an electrician for about 20 years and we were at a site where they needed a hps lite checked it was on top of a colume about 25 foot high and the guy in charge set up this one man lift with one outrigger (what holds it level) hangin off the side walk. He wanted me to go up and check the fixture and with the lift leaning I just told him that if he wanted to go up and have the lift fall out in a 4 lane road that was fine but I wasnt going to. He told me if I dont like they way they do things I could go home so I did that was 2 1/2 years ago
Oh ya! About 5 or 6 times in my life!
I've never had a job.
Nope, to responsible for that shit
No. I never feel like it. I love my job.

About a few years back, I was driving to work one morning and kept driving because the weather was so nice, I had to see the ocean. Didn't bother calling in.
