Hits or visitors which do you count as important?
 

I am tired of people bragging about getting thousands of "hits"
on thier site. I get like 200,000 hits on my site per day but only around 5,000 visitors. To me the visitors and even more so the unique visitors are what is important not the hits.

But its not, for the newbie, they think "hits" mean "visitors."

Personally I value $$$ over both of those measures.

Visitors are more important, they make you money (hopefully), hits just cost you money. :2 cents:

It's all about the bank account. Hits and visitors dont count for shit if you're not using a sponsor that converts.

Hits are important if you want the person to like the site and come back. If uniques and hits are too close then the site is not sticky which is ok if that is what you want.

Worry more about sales.

visitors are way more important...by clicking they increase the amount of hits you send to trades, but more importantly more hits to your gallys. then theres a better chance they may signup.

i say visitors , people who keep coming back are usually the freeloaders unless they sign up

It depends on a site. If it's a TGP then it's the same thing. Lots of hits is good because they're productive and you need multiple visits if you're going to build traffic.

Bottom line is the $$$

i would rather have 10 visitors that signup than 1000 that dont... i am a stats freak and always looking at the patterns and so forth but i always belive in quality over volume...

I only care about uniques.
