sounds like you need to register some nameservers.

kobe 03-25-2004 06:04 PM

hehe.. it's so fucking little problem ... i just need few notes..
man if something that i know would have been asked from me ... i would gladly help.. not for like with bulding house.. but how to make door for the house.. it's not so complicated.. don't be so greedy with your skills.................

how i can register nameservers?

Wilbo 03-25-2004 06:11 PM

You need to get 2 IP numbers from your host. Then go to your domain registrar and register the domain as a nameserver using the 2 ip numbers given to you by your host.

do a search on google, youll have to find somewhere that provides dns services. you used to be able to at godaddy but i dont think you can anymore. register it with your nameserver names and ip address. then go to your registrar and point your domain to the nameservers you created.

kobe 03-25-2004 06:14 PM

thanks.. but how?
will it do like that:

ns1.(primary)IP
ns2.(seconday)IP

or...

just

(primary)IP
(seconday)IP

Maybe that wasn't clear........you have to use a domain

ns1.domain.com
ns2.domain.com

then assign them both ip numbers.

kobe 03-25-2004 06:22 PM

getting close....
but i saw in some threads that i have to insert
ns1.mydomain.com with IP addresses.. now what does this mean.. fuckkk

like this
ns1.mydomain.com(space)primaryIP
ns2.mydomain.com(space)secondaryIP

Yes, like that.........but it also has to be set up with your registrar and that takes a day or two to propagate.

kobe 03-25-2004 06:28 PM

ok thanks everybody who helped me i'll try it.. but UNFORTUNATELY godaddy is down at the moment and i have to just wait a little bit..

kobe 03-25-2004 06:36 PM

if godaddy doesn't do tha tanymore.. where i can do it .. i mean set that particular domain as nameserver.. do any body knows a good place and is there any charge about doing this?

SoundMan 03-25-2004 06:41 PM

directnic serves DNS

kobe 03-25-2004 06:58 PM

hahaha if i want to do that in directnic i have to have domain ordered from them .. but i have done it from godaddy already

can't i just type to the godaddy nameservers
this..

ns1.mydomain.com(space)primaryIP
ns2.mydomain.com(space)secondaryIP

and it will work?

kobe 03-25-2004 07:35 PM

will it work if i do that one just above?
