I have some black friends that don't trip if I call em nigga, I am on good enough terms with them and have that respect from them that they don't trip... I usually do not call someone I just meet nigga though, thats disrespectful.. because they may feel its an offense.. but when they start callin me nigga, I'll start calling them nigga right back...

because the word "nigga' is a derogitary word used as a label towards a specific race of people. If you are one of those people, you are trying to use it to symbolize that you are "brothers" however it just puts you down as well.

Never could understand it myself. Until a black friend told me that she didn't consider me racist so it was okay to use the word and went on about the different levels on being black. After that conversation, I choose not to use the "n" word. :)

nigga isnt exactly used the same way when spoken black to black.

Here's an example -


Me: Damn nigga, you for real?


Now here's an example of lets say a White Man using it -

White Person: Damn stop ******-lipping the joint
(i've actually heard this)

Not really creative right now but do you see what im getting at? When it's one of your own you already know it isnt meant to be offensive.

Also im sure a few white people on this board can say they have friends who dont mind them using the word nigga because THEY understand the difference.
