Terrorist group to suspend attemps in France.
 

So this group that's demanding France pay it millions of dollars has announced it will suspend operations while it "perfects our bombs". They warn they will resume attempts if France does not pay.

Do you think the French will pay this?

If they do, and I think they will, won't that open them up to being the financial instution of choice for terrorism? Need to build some bombs? Shit, threaten France for a few mil .. No problem.

Gotta hand it to the Terrorists though .. If anybody is going to pay them, it'll be France.

No way in hell France would pay off terrorists. You US people think France are a bunch of pussies just because they don't support your invasion of Iraq. That might be true, but when it comes to their own country, tey're far from weak.

I am not a US person. I am a Canadian person who happens to think that the United States is at least taking the lead role in trying to wipe out terrorists. They may not be perfect at it, but until someone else steps up, I'll support them.

All the same, I do think the French are a bunch of pussies. Sorry, that's just what I think and you can't change that. Much as I can't change the fact that you think the opposite.

Further to the point .. The French have been reported to have been at least considering paying. Where as the US policy is "we do not negotiate with terrorists." Thus, threaten France who will consider it ... and not the US where it's flat out not possible.

I think that what the US did in Iraq was good, the reasons for it bad. Getting rid of Saddam was good for the whole world, fabricating evidence on weapons of mass destruction was not.

But my point really was that France are not weak when directly threatened by terrorists. They are pompous stuck-up bitches who think they are better than everyone else, but not weak.

Hold on a second ... There's no evidence anybody fabricating anything. Saddam absolutely used weapons of these sorts on his own people. He clearly had them at one point. BUSH SR. , Clinton and Bush Jr. ALL believed there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Saddam had only to say "No we have none, bring as many inspectors as you like, look where ever you like .. we won't stand in the way" ... And there is no war. He didn't do this. Why? Either he had WMD, or he wanted the world to believe he did. Either case, he caused his own demise... More so than any fabrication of evidence did.
