Someone needs to write some code to autoban people for abusing the search.

As it is you have to be a registered member to use search right? And it's so resource intensive I would think that you could put a routine in with a few extra checks and have it actually save resources overall.

There is already a solution very similar to what the registrars are using it just needs to be applied here.
