I Buy My Shoes at Walmart!

BradShaw mentioned that he can't understand how someone can spend $600 on shoes (in reference to a "shoe" post) and that he buys all of his shoes at Walmart.

So do I. Seriously. They're just fucking shoes! Why spend a bunch of money on them when Walmart shoes work just fine?

Any other shoe-cheapskates out there?

A Ferrari is much more practical than $600 shoes. :)

MUCH MORE PRACTICAL THAN $600 SHOES!

Please point out the part of that sentence where I said a Ferrari is practical.

______ is to ______ as _______ is to ______.

Get it?

Fletch XXX 03-25-2004 11:03 AM

yeap makes sense, buying your shoes at walmart and drive a ferrari

axelcat 03-25-2004 11:06 AM

I would not spend that much on shoes

dunefield 03-25-2004 11:07 AM

each to their own i guess... so if walmart shoes make you feel comfortable, be it...

mpulse 03-25-2004 11:22 AM

Sometimes it's not that you get what you pay for. When shoes cost $600, brand name and fashion supercede durability in most cases.

cherrylula 03-25-2004 11:37 AM

The most I have ever spent on shoes was about $200. It was an impulse purchase.

The funny thing is I found an identical pair in an even better color, black, like a year later for $20. Same brand and everything.

And then one night the heel broke off one pair. So much for price meaning quality. :1orglaugh

machinegunkelly 03-25-2004 11:40 AM

there is a difference .

Not that I normally fork out $600 , but usually at least 200 for a good pair or skate shoes .

I just bought a pair of $40 airwalks cause I liked the way they looked , and they feel like the soles are made of hard plastic , total shit compared to my old globes :P

Mr. Marks 03-26-2004 12:17 AM

I buy cheap shoes, clothes, almost everything for a better price. I hate getting ripped off.

kowntafit 03-26-2004 01:20 AM

$600 shoes are fucking rediculous

Is it all about the name or are they some super special material?

zzgundamnzz 03-26-2004 01:26 AM

I buy the Shaq Brand shoes from Target. There actually really comfy shoes :Graucho Walmart/Target there clothes are going up in quality these days. I mean whats the difference between a shirt/shoe made in some factory in china and another shirt made in the same place but with a different logo?

They're magic shoes. You just have to click your heels 3 times.

IPK 03-26-2004 01:29 AM

well people like Brad Shaw don't need expensive shoes to impress people. everyone already knows he's rich.

I thought all you guys were gazillionaires that didn't mind spending some $$$.

Personally I do spend that type of money on shoes, I just like to have nice things. If I like something, I dont care about the price.

And you must be american to drive in a Ferarri with Wallmart shoes, thats just stupid.

I'll spend $220 on a pair of dress shoes but $600 is a bit expensive. The $220 pair will last me a good 5-10 years though. The $20 Walmart versions won't last nearly that long.

I buy them in sport stores or tennis pro shops, but I would buy them on ebay without thinking twice about it.

flashfire 03-26-2004 05:14 AM

I'm a cheap-ass too...hell half the stuff is made in the same sweat-shop as the name brand

myjah 03-26-2004 06:36 AM

I buy whatever shoes I like no matter where they come from

Herb Kornfield 03-26-2004 06:48 AM

$100 is tops for shoes for me....Mostly I wear Columbia hiking boots / Columbia sandals from REI

Summertime - usually barefoot at the house and when Im driving in my truck im barefoot....much more comfy.

KRL 03-26-2004 07:18 AM

Well Wal-Mart isn't the place to buy your business dress shoes, but they do carry a rugged style shoe line called Earth Shoes which are the most comfortable walking and workin around the house shoes I've ever found and I buy a new pair of them every year.

Just for everyone's info, Wal-Mart is one of the toughest stores to sell your manufactured merchandise to. They are strict as hell about the quality of what goes on their shelves. Any imperfections they find and it all goes back to the vendor. So you rarely will find anything but good products there.
