this site is off the motherfucking hook-- over 4,000 member registrations in the last 48 hours.

registering takes 5 seconds, and you get access to around 15 of the best forums out there... not to mention there are a lot of very slutty females on it. heh. check out the female user profiles :D

as far as sites go, it can be quite hard to monetize forum traffic unless it's a niche market a-la GFY.

people tend not to click banners on forums, and because there are so many page views the CTR is usually extremely low.

i mean you could always do some sort of subscription thing, but eh... who cares. it's fun the way it is and it's hard to put a price on a good community.
