to begin, my father is a car dealer.
he buys broken cars, repairs them, and sells them for profit (side job of his)
most of our fixed cars are parked in our street (we have 4 now)

well it all started about 1 week ago when they scratched 2 of our cars (grand ams I believe), and today they decide to break the taillights of these 2 cars

my father is pissed as fuck, we have no idea who did this and why....

what to do about this situation?

stop parking them on the street.

They aren't really directly messing with your family. Setup a cam or something and find out who's doing it and then bust them.

stake em out late night and when you catch them trying something open fire on them with a high velocity paintball gun filled with red paint. (keep a real gun in your pocket for backup) they will think they are shot, piss themselves, and never come back, and if they do, use the real gun.

I would guess 1 of 2 things! local punks having fun at your expense! or someone that you father sold a car to that was not happy!

My sugestion, put up a survailance cammera, you can get a complete system with nightvision camera, time lapse VCR and monitor/cable for about $800.00, maybe a bit less!

That's what I did when someone was dumping on my property at 3am

The next time they came,,i was waiting with my 12 gauge,,,,when they came on my property,,i tackled 1 while striking the other guy with the butt of the shotgun.

When the cops came,,,both of them lied to the cops and said i dragged them out of their car and statrted beating the shit out of them.

good thing i had the tape rolling b/c i showed the cops and they were then arrested for tresspassing and filing a false police report.

stop using the street as your personal car sales lot. i'd be pissed off if i had a neighbor that leaves shitty cars outside on the street for his own benefit.

we only put 2 cars on the street, the other 2 are in the garage

my father owns the triplex we live in.. it will be very hard to setup a camera to monitor the cars in the streets...

I once had it out with a guy who left his junkboxes all over the place with no plates while he was "fixing" them.

If parking is tight people will get mad. Even if the plates are valid it is probably against the civic bylaw to fix cars at home.

If none of the above applies then who knows.

its probably just some kids doing it. You can always claim it on your insurance but that might raise your premiums. Just don't park them on the street park , pay to get them stored at some storage. Shouldnt cost too much

There's a lot of vandalism on cars in Montreal .. I always carry a baseball bat in my car if I see someone doing vandalism on my car I don't know how many times I'd hit that prick with my bat.

I'd suggest not parking them on the street.

I know someone who does what your dad does and his neighbours constantly complain about him having cars all over the place. He also has a warehouse so he could easily store them but he likes to piss off the neighbours.

Recently he bought a new shop where he will deal directly with car upgrades and shit like that. So he tends to have them there now....

Perhaps someone just doesn't like to look out the window and see cars all over the street that don't really belong there.

There's not much you can do now. There's no way of catching the people who did it. Just keep your cars parked inside a garage, and not on the street where anybody can just pass by and do stupid things.

set up a camera one night - you'll see who does it

use a sony camera - they have night vision built into them

Can't you park 2 in the garage and 2 in front of the parked cars?
Did your father kick someone out of the appartment? If they did it only to your cars, I'm inclined to think it's not random and it's someone who wants to get back at you/your father/ someone in your family.
