I was thinking of entering the Miss GFY contest
 

NOT. For the time it would take to be in the Miss GFY, I'll make way more than $19,000 doing what I always do. So to you Miss GFY ladies, drop the contest ( it won't be fair anyway) and work your businesses. I know you'll end up with more to show for it.

Let's say working on Miss GFY took 5 hours total throughout the competition, use that 5 hours to negotiate cheaper hosting, learn a new web development tool, catch up on your QuickBooks entries, rollover your IRA's, try a new sponsor, find the best rewards points credit cards, refinance your mortgage, open a medical savings account or any of the millions of ways to bring guaranteed returns instead of working on the chance of winning Miss GFY.

and where is the fun in that?

I spend just a few hours a week on GFY. Sewing your own actually costs more. Have you priced good fabric, buttons and thread lately? That's just like my garden. I end up paying 15 times the cost per lb. of anyhting I grow versus the grocer.

Do you sometimes go shopping and spend more time there than you should do? Do you watch TV sometimes... shows that are not a necessity to your survival? Do you go out and have fun sometimes??? Oh wait.... what if you would take all this time and use it for more productive purposes!? Finding way to make more money!!! Please GET A LIFE!

how do i say this......... its a damn contest simply for fun and games. yes there is a lot based on looks and popularity in the contest, but the title is miss gfy. i hate to be *flippant* but c'mon. why so critical??? i have full trust in lensmen that brains will be a part of the contest. yes many of the ladies on there are content, maybe they will win maybe not. heck who knows .......
the point of the matter is if your not comfortable with it. its okay to bash on it??? i think not, this is where i have difficulty acceptting it. the best way to deal with it is simply dont enter........

Who did I diss besides the drama lovers xxxdesign and Jimbo? If you are doing it for fun, good for you. But some people might be doing it for the money. The prize is being played up on GFY and the missgfy site. I'm just saying you ladies oughta know more like who the 'panel of judges' will be and stuff before you start dropping trou.

For me personally its ALL a game. Do i care who the panel of judges are NO. I can care less who they are. Its a contest, it will not it benfit me in any shape or form.
As far doing it for the money.Yes to a certain extent, and if i dont win oh well no biggie. It least i gave it a shot, and will continue to live comfortably (and no im not talent).
Also who wouldnt want the prizes invovled??? Thats what makes it appealing. And for the ladies who are doing this because they are desperately in need of the $$$ well good luck to them :)
