My PC saves jpg.gifs as bmp. HELP!!!

Does anyone know how to fix this problem. Every time I find a .jpg or a .gif that I want to save to my hard drive it wants to save it as a .bmp. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix it.

I'll give blowjobs to whoever helps me.

clear cache

HeebyJeeby 03-23-2004 10:36 AM

What Ztik said. You need to clear your cache fairly often to keep that from happening.

Rebooting works too.

No... the problem is that any file named jpg.gif is going to confuse your computer and its only solution is to saveit as jpggif.bmp

And thats a fact.

Just do the following and you will never have this problem again:

In IE: Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced... check 'Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed'...

Does not.

you can also set a limit to the size of your cache in internet options. I set mine to 250mb and have never had this happen to me again.

clean cache, reboot, and make sure that you have enough memory- both RAm and free space on your harddrive.
I think that memory thing is the most important (also free space on your harddrive).
