Looking to buy a Laptop Any Ideas, Suggestions ?

What would you buy , or have that you are happy with? Main application will be the uploading of pics to my server while I am on the road. My main considerations are Speed, good wirerless ability , and battery life. Opinions, success stories ?

A friend of mine just sold me a brand new, in the box Compaq Presario 2500 for $200. He was clearing out the excess shit in his office and he had never used it.

I love it. Only thing I can complain about with it is the battery life of only 1 1/2 hours.:feels-hot Where the hell do I get a decent battery for this thing???

If you like Macs, I would wholeheartedly suggest the Apple Powerbook G4. Yummy!!

Yes thanks for mentioning that one, Size and weight, is important as well. Much as I love to have a 17"widescreen, I have too much shit to lug around already. :winkwink:

You can also get an Emachines. They laptops that they make are a pretty good choice. I have a friend who got one and he is very happy with them. They are also affordable.

np - also battery life is excellent - on a plane - with standard battery (almost 4 hours - with brightness turned down) - (although - i have an www.igo.com - so in theory unlimited with power connection on the seat)

and WIFI & BlueTooth - perfect for Bluetooth mouse and other accessories
