Whats the best and simplest way to track your advertising campaigns? what kind of stats do you use?

When I track an advertising campaign I just use an affiliate tracking code and set the percentage to 0%. Works like a charm for internet ads.

i count all clicks via perl and mysql.

Well, depends on what you are looking to track :)

We use ADCLUSTER to track all our advertiser stats, and give them full access to see those stats themselves. Adcluster allows for massive geo-targetting, time targetting, region targetting, hair color and blood type targetting (okay, maybe not hair color and blood type, but close) and just about any other kind of tracking you can imagine!
