Anyone from Phoenix Forum here

I just noticed cutoff date for free registration. This is mt 1st show so I didnt know registration was needed and $250 is quite steep . I think its the most expensive in the world. SHit AVN is only $150. I was planning on bringing couple girls. ANyway to get registered

Digipimp 03-21-2004 11:46 AM

That sucks big baller, but I'm sure there are a couple people with some free passes I think I saw them around here. And yeah $250 is ridiculous.

amacontent 03-21-2004 07:46 PM

Ill trade some content for passes anyone.

Axeman 03-21-2004 08:35 PM

$250 eh? wow that high considering how many free passes were given out

SleazyDream 03-21-2004 08:41 PM

island gathering was a lot more than that

corvette 03-21-2004 10:11 PM

Amacontent, just so you know?

The point of the post-free registration fee is to help cover the costs of an additional registrant. We had a finite number of attendees that we arranged to accommodate with the sponsorship budget and had to cutoff the registration once we reached that number?we have nearly 700 registered.

If you get hold of some tickets and have any questions about hotels, places to eat and the like, feel free to reach me

Still $250 is the most expensive show in the world and I think that is a bit steep. This is my 1st show and I already am coming with a bad taste in my mouth. Seems like all events are poolside. I didnt notice the registration part , i am registered in the hotel tho.. doesnt that count for 2 tix for me and my girl.

Joe, we certainly don?t want you to be at the forum with a bad taste in your mouth.

Please understand that our sponsors were very generous with regard to the attendees and I am sure that $250 would be well spent to attend the forum. We made many announcements regarding the free registration for the forum during the 4-5 weeks that it was available, and when we felt that the event was close to capacity, we had no choice but to cut off the registrations.

To answer your question, it is my understanding that you need a registration badge to attend the forum events; however, I am sure that you won?t get kicked out of the resorts pool area if you would like to be close to the poolside events.

Maybe I am thinking of somebody else but aren't you the guy who has been traveling all over the world shooting content in places like Czech and so forth? If you can afford to do those things then $250 should not be a problem for you.

I say they let your girls in for half price and charge you the full fee.

Yes im the one traveling all over the world Victoria but that doesnt mean im not money conscious. If the Forum offers the same deal and productivity that AVN and Internext does.. then fine... I dont mind.. but for just a gathering.. i see it being steep and im sure im not only one. I am in no way cheap and I will spend money with the best of em , that dont mean I wont watch where Im spending it.

SteveLightspeed 03-23-2004 09:17 AM

As one of the show's main sponsors, it bothers me that the registration can't be free for everyone. Next year I think that there should be a limit (maybe 3?) of how many people can register for free from a single company.

It doesn't seem fair that some companies send 4 or more people for free, when there is not enough room for everyone. If that company thinks Phoenix Forum is valuable enough for that much attention from their sales staff, maybe they should look into a sponsorship themselves?

Just my 2 cents.

Steve that is an idea with merit ! I know you are spending major bucks on this one. Last year this was one of the best events for networking and business. The Whole cutoff date for free registration was well promoted, yet it seems that there are always guys crying after the fact. For those of you who have to pay , it is a legit business expense so it is deductable:2 cents:

amacontent 03-23-2004 09:48 AM

Hey im not crying man , just making a point . I dont spend all day on boardas and i have been traveling an aweful lot so I missed it. I barely caugfht hotel registration in time. Like I said this is my 1st show. Fuck even AVN and Internext gave me some free passes.

We missed the cutoff date while we were away on vacation and will now have to pay.

:(

Oh well, at least as you say I can write it off.

huh? you said Phoenix would be your first show. I asked if Internext and WAW did not count. Of course Internext is a show.

I just did not understand your comment that "This is mt 1st show so I didnt know registration was needed. . . "

As I recall, WAW and Internext both required registration.

Joe, please allow me to elaborate a bit on some of the differences between the Phoenix Forum and the Internext show? You just don?t get the right to attend a trade show floor, in addition to the seminars, you are provided with food, buffet lunches for the days of the seminars, open bars for the evening events (imagine the cost of an open bar for 700 people), transportation costs, etc...2 different things being compared

We have taken the sponsorship dollars and divided that against how many people that we had expected to attend and made all the financial commitments up front to reserve the entire resort for the event.

Be aware that The Phoenix Forum is not a for-profit tradeshow. The three day event is funded 100% by these sponsorship dollars. There is no revenue generated by the show for anyone involved, including CCBill as the host company

That said, as a business person yourself I?m sure that you can understand, we simply could not support the event financially if it were left open indefinitely for free registrants.
