By the time I saw it I had seen so many clips, heard every news related show on TV talk about it, interviews with half the people involved and thousands of messageboard/usenet postings...

It was exactly what I expected.

It's a good and very ambitious telling of the story. It's a little hard for a film to be a "life-changing experience" when you know what is going to happen every step of the way:glugglug

I have yet to see it, probably catch it on tv some day though..

That movie was pretty brutal. When everyone said it was, I thought that they were just over-exagerating, but man, the scene where they have him chained to that block and they're whipping him, I won't go into details for those that haven't seen it, but by the end of that scene, you'll cringe once or twice, ha ha ha. That was one of the most brutal parts of any movie that I've ever seen.

Hopefully you're talking about HBO or another pay service, would probably be a pretty short show by the time it makes it to TV and is cut down to the broadcast standards then...
