How do I password protect folders in Windwos XP Professional?
I read on Microsoft's site a while back that you can password protect files and folders in XP Pro? Well, I just purchased it and I can't find a damn thing in the manual that talks about it.
Anyone here know how I can do this? Any info would be great. Thanks! |

Right click your folder and click on Sharing and Security - there is a box to click to make the folder private.
If you can't click it - go to the bottom and click the help link to sharing and security - the full explanation (for the different types of networks) will show up there. |

Without third party tools you cannot add passwords to specific folders. Folders are protected at the user account level.
