    What are your opinions on contacting members

    When I get a new signup, I like to email members and thank them for signing up and stuff like that. Is this a good idea or a bad idea? Some may like the fact that the webmaster takes time to email them and thank them, while others may find it's an invasion of privacy. Thoughts please.
