Anyone using the Coolpix 8700 yet.
 

The 8700 replaces the ever popular 5700. Went from 5 mega pix to 8 + a bigger LCD display. Not ready to jump into a 10D etc. and I prefer not to go with a plastic body like the digital rebel.

I like the 8x zoom. The 5700 had that too. No need for lens swap. I'm not doing content to resell, but do content for my own sites. The 8700 has improved white balance capabilities. I like the size and it?s faster than the 5700.

Interested in comments. Seems like the perfect fit for me. I have a new 5700, I have left in the box (hello ebay). Thought is that maybe I should jump into the 8700. The 8700 was released in the first part of this month. Didn?t know it was coming..

As far as I know it is. Why ruin the value by breaking all the seals, if i'm just gonna turn around and get an 8700 for myself.

Too late, I ordered the 8700 online. Should have it within a week. Anybody want a 5700? - $550 - shipping on me - that's at a loss on my part even with the rebate offer.

I'll have comments on it after I use it. Doesn't seem to be a ton of interest in the 8700, at least not tonight.
