Adding a new processor to an existing site, technical hurdles..?

k all, maybe a simple question for some here... if you already have a site running and processing w/ an existing processor like ccBill or iBill, and want to add a secondary processor to the mix like Verotel, CardsGate, etc., how to mesh them together to both be able to access and modify a singular .htpasswd file?

as far as i know the .htaccess system only allows for one .htpasswd file to be accessed for AUTH, is this correct?

if anyone who has set up multiple processors on a single site could speak up it would be great, i'm looking at all the technical notes and it seems unclear how this is accomplished..!

You just tell the second script where the htpasswd is and there should be no problem...

Here is what our tech support said:

Two (or more) client-side script can be used on single .htpasswd file as long as they follows the same advisory lock scheme, i.e. both tries to obtain the lock before writing to file and releases it afterwards. But keep in mind: if the script is waiting too long for lock, attempt to add the user might be considered failed at the billing side.
