Okay folks. You all know how to signup for a sponsor, put up galleries or load up your TGP with hosted galleries. You know how to setup an AVS and Freesite as well as a Linklist. Basically, you know how to sell porn.
The reason you're reading this is because you would like some Tips and Tricks on how you can take traffic that is not necessarily going to buy your porn (or your specific niche), and try to get it to buy into other products.
I'm going to give you a real life example of the most common upsell type. But you would never think of it this way:
A Grocery Store. Think about it. You're walking down the isle and see a new product or something you have never tried before. So you put it in your buggy. OR you pick up a product you would not have otherwise, simply because the price is $1.99 down from $3.49.
As you can see a common task in mainstream utilizes upsells. Every company in the world does the exact same.
So why has it taken the adult webmaster SO LONG to catch up? Some of us have been shaking our heads wondering the exact same thing. But no one has the answer to that question.
It's time that adult webmasters from TGP to paysite owners start upselling products to surfers. And I'm going to show you some very basic ways to do it.
First off: You never know what your surfer is looking for. They may come in on a blind click from a Teen niche to your Teen site. But in reality they really want some tranny content. Bottom line is they may not even know it yet.
The best way to approach this sort of surfer market is to at least offer it to them. Make an "alternate product" table. Link to some sites "GirlFucksGuy: Women sticks it to the men". And why not, you may have women surfers stumble across your site. "BackDoorTwinks: Gay Men get it on" - you may have some bi curious surfers.
Get creative, and be diverse! Remember that we're not just selling porn. Try selling Cigarettes. You may find that surfers are easily persuaded into purchasing discounted Tobacco online. You don't know until you try!
The most important thing to remember is that you will not LOSE sales by diversifying. You will only pick up your revenue.
Can't sell Cigs? Okay how about selling Penis Pills?
Better question: Why not put up a 4 word text link for BOTH products and see what happens? Qualify the clicks and send it to the sponsor. You may only be able to send a small amount of volume- but you may make a sale out of it. A FREE sale. Something you would not have gotten otherwise.
Scenario 1: Jose visits your Teen TGP from a skim click from another Teen TGP. But when he hits your site he decides that he is tired of looking at solo girls. He wants to see some Hardcore sex. But your site doesn't have any Hardcore- so Jose closes your site and goes back to Google to search.
Scenario 2: Michael visits your MILF AVS and decides to join. During the surfing he notices that he can enter his email address and get free access to Asian pictures. He's always wanted to join an Asian site, so he enters his email address to join.
Scenario 3: Herbert just finished beating off in your members area to his favorite pornstar. He has to go clean up. As soon as he gets back, he sees a popup in the members area that says "Tired of beating off with your small dick? Make it bigger!". He is turned on by the Money back guarantee. So he clicks and purchases a 3 month supply.
Scenario 2 and 3 both just sold a product, while the same old Joe Webmaster sold nothing. Why? 2 + 3 upsold to the surfer. Pretty damn easy and pretty damn profitable!
You've read enough to see that upselling is the easiest way to keep your surfers clicking your links and buying your products. By NOT adding diversity to your sites you are LITERALLY throwing away traffic- as the surfer closes out your site and never comes back. Why simply toss away traffic that you can sell to? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
I don't think that anyone would be opposed to a 10% raise in pay for putting up a couple of links.
