Anybody else planning to go see this re-make of 1978 cult classic? Early reviews are pretty positive :thumbsup

B40 03-18-2004 10:38 PM

Definitely.. going first day I think.

The old dawn of the dead has been one of my favorite horror movies for a loooong time. I hope they don't butcher it.

cluck 03-18-2004 10:50 PM

I hear the zombies run. There's gonna have to be some KICK ASS SHIT in that movie for them to make up for having running zombies.

I wanna see the ER guy kick ass too!

lurking 03-18-2004 10:53 PM

anyone else catch the 10 minute uncut preview on USA?

skrog 03-18-2004 10:55 PM

Saw it on Tuesday....

It was all right. I am a really big fan of the original. The re-make just didn't do it for me. I think they could have made the death scenes more gruesome. I love gore! It was worth seeing for free. That's all I really can say about it.

going in a little while to the first showing in town :thumbsup

I saw the trailer over at apple.com/trailers, looks pretty damn scary. Comes out March 26th over here so i will go and see it then

strobi 03-19-2004 09:20 AM

def! want to see it! I'm a big fan of the original!

Roger 03-19-2004 09:34 AM

will do so in a couple of hours.

Rob 03-19-2004 09:44 AM

I'll certainly check it out just because I was a huge fan of the original. However, I have a fear that it's going to be butchered...they have a tendency to do that to classic remakes. :2 cents:

twistyneck 03-19-2004 10:26 AM

I'm going to see it today. :ak47:

Platinum Adam 03-19-2004 10:29 AM

Just saw it.

It was pretty cool. I think that zombies who can run are pretty fucking scary.

(Hey, this time they are dead, not infected) :)

They did a really nice job with the movie.

armyofme 03-19-2004 12:50 PM

i'd like to see the original first before seeing the new one.

You're fired :1orglaugh

rickholio 03-19-2004 12:56 PM

Just saw it... if you're into zombie flicks, this one will not disappoint. Plenty of little nods to all the movies which came before, lots of action and done well enough to allow you to 'suspend your disbelief'. Not quite as bloody as the original (the original was buckets-o-blud type gory) but still plenty nuff.

For a chuckle, pay attention to the songs they're playing in muzak form on the elevator and in the mall ;)

:thumbsup :thumbsup

kimzar 03-19-2004 12:59 PM

definetely going to go see it, the trailers look good

CheeseFrog 03-19-2004 01:23 PM

It's kinda cool because in the latest iteration of the zombie movie, the zombies actually run at you... Check out the trailer!

JustLurking 03-19-2004 02:03 PM

The staff at SinHost all cut off work early to go see it... and it was dope!

okny 03-19-2004 02:10 PM

I will go see it, it should be a good flick.

xenophobic 03-19-2004 02:20 PM

my reason for wanting to see it (and prodding all my friends too) is because George A, Romero the person who made the original "Night Of the living Dead", "Dawn Of the Dead" and "Day of the Dead" has wanted to make a forth installment since the early 90's but cannot get the budget, there was hope that "Resident Evil" would renew the Zombie movie, and he would get money to produce the forth movie.

The forth movie was to be called "Dead Reckoning" (I think it's changed now) and the theme he said was that "zombies roamed the streets like aid's victims, people ignore them and live in fenced apartment blocks" and the "Dead Reckoning" was some sort of super armoured tank that took supplies between places.

He's getting on in age, and seeing as these movies are my favorite horror movies, I sure would like to see another one before he dies !

Voodoo 03-19-2004 02:21 PM

Going to see it in 1 hour.

brizzad 03-19-2004 02:22 PM

been trying to talk my g/f into going, hopefully her pussy-ass will give in and stop being scared

Slick 03-19-2004 02:25 PM

WOW, I see that it has an 80% over on Rotten Tomatoes :)

yup, I want to see it for that reason as well...if this one makes $$$,he'll get the funding to do his fourth flick....plus this one doesn't look too bad...I already had the cameos spoiled for me though....
