It also could be a mistake. Because i dont think anyone is actually going to pay that much. Maybe $5.00 per pic

Especially for logo designs (you pay a fee everytime it gets printed) . |

Yeah i was just gonna say, u sure u didnt miss a decimal point? If that company misprinted they are losing lots of business hahaha... |
But 500 $ is way over priced .
But the content in mainsteam is way more expensive (photography) then in porno . |

yeah big stock photo agencies charge an arm and a leg for using their photos.
but there are lots of cheap royalty free stock photo CD's and places where u can license an image fairly reasonably. check out http://www.hemera.com u can pay them a monthly subscription, like 20 bucks, and have access to their library of stock images. lots of designers in this biz put some pretty big companies at risk for lawsuits by using mainstream stock photography taken from very big stock agencies like Corbis and Getty. i'm no snitch unless somebody gives me a reason to be :Graucho |
w00t. sounds strange. must be rich ;)
|
Mainstream has always lost it. They are overpriced.
I mean shit any people that pay "consultants" $50 an hour.. need help. |

I've said it before... There is FAR more money in non adult related business on the net. FAR more... Ya goto like porn to keep working with it:1orglaugh Porn aint about money its about openning minds. Money is a by product. |
Every year a new edition of Photographers Market Guide comes out with what all the publishers pay for photographs. This is just stock stuff of nature, glamour, food, animals, whatever.
Custom photo for an ad for a national magazine or billboard campaign will bring the photographer $5-10,000 for that one photo. |
I guess the market conditions will dictate how much they can get...bad for us if the rates ever go that high, good for the model

and this was indeed cheap..1/8 of a page, for web and non-exclusive wait till you need to pay the price for an exclusive A3 print..time for a secondmortage and they (corbis that is) are even cheaper then gettyimages BRRRrrrr |
i picked up 2 royalty free photos for a total of $150..still expensive though imo
|
In case you guys didn't notice, stock photography is a HUGE mainstream business and a total ripoff and thats why BILL GATES just bought one of the biggest stock photography companies. :2 cents:

I have a client for whom we had to develop an ad campaign. Golf related, we need about 10 high res gold course, gold dude and gold dudette pics. Went to different sites, THEY ARE ALL CRAZY !!!! 200 to $800 per picture.
Those people are totally out of their mind. We found some guy who had a 6.4MP digital camera and he shot 50 pics for $300 :2 cents: |
thats just pitiful
