Rumsfeld stated pre-9/11 that he had plans on "reinventing" the military for the modern age. Anyone got links on how those plans are panning out. Makes sense given the changed world we live in.

How about 237 lies courtesy of the 5 leading members of Dubya's administration?

The link below leads to the "Iraq on Record" report requested by Rep. Henry A. Waxman. It examines statements made by the five Administration officials most responsible for providing public information and shaping public opinion on Iraq: President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. It identifies 237 specifically misleading statements made by those officials.

the guy forgot something he said what, 2 years ago, can't blame him for that - but he could've done a much better job of covering himself. it's pretty sad they had to lead him into that position to trap him, they already had the quotes prepared obviously.

Key word *MORE*. No terrorist pose a MORE immediate threat. Not, *they are an immediate threat.*

With all the guys on this board that pick words apart I would think someone would have caught that!!!

I'm surprised this hasn't been used in a ad campaign against the Bush admin. Doesn't look like Rumsfield cared about the Iraqis suffering under that the horrible dictatorial regime at that time. Wonder why he changed his position 360 degrees since then becoming a liberator and voice for democracy.

It boggles the mind that some people still dont' see the hyprocrisy and blatant lies coming from the mouths of people like Rumsfield in the administration. It's partly because our culture has a short term memory - Rumsfield and the Whitehouse was sleeping with Saddam when it suited them.

if there's any intelligence information that made Bush decide to go on war with Iraq, this is your classic example how stupid people behind his cabinet.
