paypal error - "...unable to verify this credit card..." - any ideas?

This transaction failed because we were unable to verify this credit card through our card validation process. In order to proceed with your transaction, please select a different funding method or add a different credit card.

I get this error when I try to send a payment that funds (partially) through my CC. Recently I changed my residential address at the bank, so I'm guessing that is why it's failing. I changed the residential address in my paypal profile but I still get the error. Can't find anything in the online help.

Anyone had this error before?

Why do you think the payment was partially funded by my card? :) I have like $3 in my account. I never leave more than $50 there.

There's a pending auth for $AUD1.00 listed on my online statement ... I guess they're doing some sort of verification on it. Hopefully I won't have any long term probs with this.

do you have enough credit on your card?

maybe you reached the limit for the month?

yeah you have to use the code from the statement to verify

Just to make it clear, this is not a new card - it was Paypal verified about 2-3 years ago. There wasn't any notice saying that I needed to re-verify the card because I changed the address, and the error message above doesn't really explain much either. It's only by chance that I saw the pending auth on my statement, but I'm not sure how I am supposed to RE-verify the card, it's been a while since I did it. Don't you get prompted at login if there is a card awaiting verification? As I said, I have seen nothing apart from the error when I try to send...

ic ic
i thought it may have been a new card,

i have never had a problem like this with paypal BUT i have had a similar problem with rackshack they could not verify my card when i had used it there for months

what had happened was this the credit card company had put a block on my card because i had made allot of online purchases so for fraud protection they blocked my card. ( i just rang them and told them that it was all fine, and they sorted it out)

i suggest that you get your statement and call the number of your CC company

this may be what is happening or it may not be.

Did it just happen out of the blue or was it related to something that you did with your bank/card?

Basic_man: this fake card has been purchasing products and services for 3 years now... they send me a fake bill every month which I pay with fake money. :1orglaugh

Out of the blue. I used that CC online a lot in the last couple of months, maybe the bank blocked it for some stupid reason.
