dreamweaver 2004

anyone noticed its freaking slow and heavy?

i just tried it on my laptop but the previous version was doing fine.
this one takes ages to load , close , well takes ages for everything

riosluts 03-17-2004 03:19 PM

are you talking about the newest version the MX 2004 version or the previous one

Amputate Your Head 03-17-2004 03:19 PM

yes, it is bloated and VERY heavy.

oh well.... hope they put it on a diet for the next version.

cypocrypt 03-17-2004 03:19 PM

what kind of system you running?
works normal for me

SABAI 03-17-2004 03:21 PM

well i got it ten days ago, so i dunno exactly wich verion it is but i run it on a celeron 1,8 gig with 128 megs of ram

Tight 03-17-2004 03:22 PM

yup, its slow on my old laptop too.

Arty 03-17-2004 03:23 PM

Yeah, it's kinda slow compared to previous versions...

if it's Mx 2004 you might want to update to 7.0.1 which is released few days ago. It fixes many of the issues I had.

cypocrypt 03-17-2004 03:24 PM

mmm....im running it on a P4 - 2.19 GHz 512 MB of ram
and have no probs

nathan_f 03-17-2004 03:26 PM

I found it very sluggish with large files.

And every once in a blue moon it decides to close without warning.

Not enough for a heavy duty program like Dreamweaver - Bet if you moved off the celeron and threw a gig of Ram at it, you're experience would be different. Bet the box even recomends more power! I suspect even with the celeron, more memory would make a big diff :2 cents:

Hey Freeones could you hit me up on icq 94586225 or give a shout on ragnar @ ragnarworks.com wanna talk about some t-shirt shit

SABAI 03-20-2004 11:30 AM

yeah i will install it on my main comp athlon 2800+ with 1 gig of ram , the celeron was my laptop i was using while in france , now i m back home and i will keep you posted on the difference

SoundMan 03-20-2004 11:33 AM

just slow on initial load, after that it runs fine..

few bugs now and then.

doornx 03-20-2004 11:40 AM

try running dreamweaver and photoshop CS...goodbye memory

cayne 03-20-2004 11:45 AM

i love it.

SABAI 03-20-2004 11:53 AM

yep its a good proggie but still its really heavy, i think they have some bugs to clean up

Winterverse 03-20-2004 12:03 PM

Thats odd, it runs like a dream for me.. Dreamweaver MX not MX 2004 though you're probably referring to, that damn thing I just don't like.. really don't see upgrading for a long ass time. Same reason I stuck with Photoshop 5.5 until 7.0 came out and haven't upgraded to CS because the fucking hotkeys won't work..damn :feels-hot

spanky part 2 03-20-2004 12:39 PM

Dreamweaver mx 2004 just plain blows.

It's so much slower than mx. I actually talked to a tech and was told they knew it was buggy and slow but they will have that fixed in 6 months or so. Just think of it as a paid beta.:321GFY
