T.O + Jevon Kearse--Phila Eagles--super bowl 2005 favorites....

What most people don't realize was last year we had 5 defensive linemen out the entire year. The best safety in the nfl was out 10 of 16 games and 1or both of our corners were out over half the games..

Everyone is now healthy and we add Jevon Kearse.

Now we get T.O. It will be IMPOSSIBLE for other teams to defend T.O ----McNabbb---Brian Westbrook as well as the fastest Tight end in football (LJ Smith) as the same time...

The Eagles will now finally win the SUPER BOWL this year..

mindoza 03-17-2004 10:04 AM

i hope so we have to pay for that stadium!

boris77 03-17-2004 10:05 AM

howard 03-17-2004 10:06 AM

Need I remind you they lost their corners, both starters, & have a very weak interior D-Line. In other words, they are going to give up more big plays in the passing game and will continue to let teams grind them on the ground.

If they don't address this, & I can't see how as they are now capped out, they won't win the SB.

:2 cents:

Strife 03-17-2004 10:51 AM

Not a chance unless they also replace the players that they lost or are going to lose (Duce Staley, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor). Especially the two corners.

You out of towners have no idea. The corners were out all last year. Troy Vincent is hurt all the time anyway and Bobby Taylor is a fucken pussy....

We had 5 defensive lines men out all last year and thats why we gave up the rushing yards

BTW --our other 2 rb's are way better than Duce. Brian Westbrook and Correl Buckhalter are booth way better than Duce...

i agree

go eagles!

WE have 1 of the best d lines--Remember 5 guys were out for the year last year.. All our healty now and we add Kearse. Those 2 corner backs were so OVERATED. Everytime we needed Vincent he had a Groin Pull. Bobby Taylor is gay and is a pussy.. Its all Jimmy Johnsons system. Our draft from 2 years ago now is starting 1 saftey and 2 corners.

Corners don't matter cause no QB is going to have time to get off the passes...

LOL........you counter your own points regarding injuries........yes I think Jevon Kearse is an awesome DE, but he's been injured more the last 2 years than the men you are complaining about!

You aren't going to win a SB with a porous pass defense. As good defensively as the Pats were last year, even their pass D broke down in the 4th Quarter of the SB, and almost cost them the game. Imagine what teams will do to Philly with two inexperienced corners. Torch city.

howard 03-17-2004 11:08 AM

The corners are not Inexperieneced. They played a ton last year..
Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown will be better than Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincents. Jimmy Johnson made Vincent and Taylow what they were. And we have the best safety tamdem in football..

Injuries are no longer an excuse.. have you looked at the amount of injuries the patriots had during the season.. They had 42 different starters last year.. nfl record. Won the fucking superbowl.... Don't bother with the injury excuse.

Evil1 is bang on.........these days, you have to have depth, that means drafting well even in the mid rounds and filling out your roster with cheap but good "tier 2" back ups...........ask New England.........they won the SB despite being riddled with injuries.

And you are sure quick to diss Vincent..........which surprises me, the guy has went to the Pro Bowl no?

howard 03-17-2004 11:18 AM

The most important position in football is the offensive and defensive line and we had more linemen out than the pats..

5 defensive linemen out of 8 total. We had 7 sacks all last year from our defensive ends. Now everyone is healthy and we have Kearse. And 3 offensive starting linemen were out to...

I have no idea why Vincents makes it to the pro bowl--its about reputation. But the last 2 years he has sucked...

Buffalo Bills got suckered on that signing--and he is 32

D-Money 03-17-2004 11:21 AM

I agree that they will win lot's of games next year.

But I doubt they'll go and win the Super bowl.

If Donovan gets hurt, the wide receivers and tight end doesn't mean shit.

Their defense will pick up the slack, but winning the Super bowl takes more then talent, it takes good health and mentality.

It is up for grabs next year, so it is possible, I just think they'll be ready in a year or 2, not next year. I'm an Eagles fan too, just being realistic.

I'd give New England the edge with their experience.

Watch out for the Cleveland Browns next year. Garcia should help my dawgs. Browns have a great defense, great receivers and a capable quarterback that can scramble.

I'm a Browns fan, born in Cleveland, so take that in consideration.

exspamr 03-17-2004 11:21 AM

fuck the eagles, im just lookin forward to seein mike vick play for a whole season

Oh well that proves it right there, be sure to bet everything you own on the eagles.

T.O. and fat coach cant even get through the press conference without arguing. Maybe thats just fake drama to build up interest and sell sig spots!

Strife 03-17-2004 11:39 AM

Philly will also need a good secordary receiver...which they don't have. If you think James Trash can fill that role in any capacity, than your delusional .

Vic Lagina 03-17-2004 11:41 AM

I am excited for this coming season. Birds very aggressive in the offseason, and should be interesting to see who they pick up in the draft.

GO BIRDS!

Yo D--how she hanging?? The litlle lady preg yet.. You seem like u would be a great dad...

REMEMBER--The eagles have been in the NFC championship games 3 years in a row and 2 ar home. Its digusting that we lost all 3 of them. A total embarrisment. But were still really young..
Finally they go out and get these studs--i just feel its our time.

The 76ers made it to the finals in 78,79 and 82. We went out and got Moses Malone and then won the championship.

The Phillies were great in 78,79, and then in 80 added Pete Rose and we won the championship.

I'm hoping T.O and Kearse does the same for my Eagles...

TRASH IS DEADER THAN KELSY'S NUTS!!!!!

Its ashame --he happens to be a great kickoff returner.. We gave Pinkston to much money to cut him. Freddy Mitchell had a pretty good year and would be a great number 2 but I am not sure Andy Reed will start Mitchell in front of Pinkston..

Everyone who plays offense will be better with T.O on the team becasue he has to be double covered.

On defense evryone is better also because Kearse has to be double covered.

The eagles signed 2 players who need 4 players to cover them..

In the NFL, there is no such thing as an absolute lock. The Bucs too were "an absolute lock" to make it back, they were so damn good. Your dealing with a sport that every year is saddled with key injuries because it is so violent. No one is an absolute lock, especially with parity. Hey, I like the Eagles too, but man, you are in outer space with your optimism.

Yeah but #47 Mr. John Lynch was let go....

Daddy Big Nuts 03-17-2004 01:13 PM

.....because we don't need him. With our new o-line and J. Galloway who will be signed soon our offense will be just as devastating as our defense.

Vic Lagina 03-17-2004 01:13 PM

Yeah, the Bucs are done. They are going to be last season's Giants.

sickkittens 03-17-2004 01:23 PM

When was the last time a Super Bowl favortie actually won the Super Bowl?

howard 03-17-2004 02:19 PM

last year--the patriots were the favorite going into the season

axelcat 03-17-2004 02:21 PM
