How did you get it?
Where is a good place to learn about stocks?

I'm learning.

KRL 03-16-2004 07:35 PM

Stocks are great investments over the long term.

My biggest blunder was not buying MSFT when they did their IPO.

I have had some hits and miss over all I break even

nofx 03-16-2004 08:11 PM

i've got a few shares of Regions Financial thats it, i dont dabble into the stock market game much.

Furious_Male 03-16-2004 08:14 PM

I got in shortly after 911. The market was so bust at the time any mistakes I did make I more then made up for the past 2+ years. Just remember to use money you do not need, read all you can, and play it safe the first time out.

Use your brain and not emotion and one can still do well in the market.

xdcdave 03-16-2004 08:14 PM

I used to be into stocks alot more than I am currently. Right now I'm focusing on real estate, it is a much more stable return. As I explained to you on ICQ. :thumbsup

Been into the stock market for a couple of years now...

I learned by reading various books and online articles
as well as use a couple of pieces of software as well.

My stock tip for everyone is

Gameznflix.com (GZFX)

A penny stock that I got into around .03 cents. I have around 2 million shares. The stock right now is 10 cents.

Do a little research on it. It will be the next Netflix and even if it does 10% of Netflix, you are looking at a 7 dollar stock in 24 months.

Pennystocks are bit too volatile for the average investor man.

That depends. I'm not saying to dump your life savings into penny stocks....

I use about 10% of my portfolio for penny stocks.

born4porn 03-16-2004 08:22 PM

I am still learning about the market and i hope I always will be. I need to expand my portfolio again soon! :thumbsup

Stocks are great. Sign up for online brokerage service through your bank. You'll get tips and suggestions and they'll walk you through the basics.

My bank sends out a quarterly newsletter in which the indicate what are they're preferred stocks.

Of course, that will get you through the basics, but if you want more,....then it's to the internet or your bookstore or a night class.

Your broker doens'nt care if you earn money or not... he gets he's comission eaither way!
I'm the only one who truely care about MY MONEY.... I prefer to do all the research myself.

Take the Series 7 class, pass the test, then you can buy AND sell stocks for others

Paraskass 03-16-2004 09:14 PM

I bought 300 shares of Nortel (toronto) at 6$ when my grandmother passed away last year.

They we're up to 12$ last month, but now have gone down...
it's all about long term.

Paraskass 03-16-2004 09:15 PM

YOU SHOULD ALL BUY THIS PENNY STOCK!
AT LEAST 100$ OF IT.

IT WILL EXPLODE IN THE NEXT 2 MONTHS!

I HAVE 5000 SHARES OF THEM FOR FUN! WE WILL SEE!

this would sound more credible if it wasn't all capitalized.

It seems like risky biz, look at poor old Martha.

I've just been buying Mutual Funds through my Roth IRA, but that's more of a retirement thing.

I'm not playing with stocks yet.. but I've been reading up quite a bit.. but from what I've seen penny stocks are great.. as long as you watch it everyday..

AWC 03-16-2004 10:11 PM

I caught RIMM around 11 bucks a share... about 15 months ago... the last trade was at 93.11

ATH has performed well for me as well... got in about 55 a share... about a year ago... last trade was 89.90...

raster 03-16-2004 10:13 PM

It's not a broker, you do your own research and place your own orders....just since you have signed up for their discount brokerage service, they make all this literature available to you so you can make an informed descion.

w/o a college degree all you will be doing with the series 7 / series 77, 63 etc. is cold calling old folks and immigrants for the rest of your life.

this ones a real gamble.. netflix.. doesnt make money.. I dont think this business model will be a long term thing... because in the future everything will be downloaded, rented, via high speed connection.... but your looking at 10 yearas before theres somehting super mainstream.. prob 5 or so when there something comes out superly overpriced..
this might be a nice stock to triple up on though....,. lets just say if your ready to gamble this one will be better then RED OR BLACK : )

Here are a few stocks I bought last week...
EGLS
CMKK -making something that will make it impossible for ppl to film a movie from theatre screen. To stop bootleggers and shit.
SIMG

I'm getting into Options trading now, seems to be better (less risk and more gain).

sexsup 03-17-2004 03:23 AM

Oracle Porn I suggest FOREX or futures, a lot better than stocks.

Stock hit 17 cents last week.... Saw a very nice return :)

My advice to everyone buy as many shares as you can. This week is going to be huge for GZFX. Do some quick research of course but it's going to blow big..........
