GFY specific injury

for years now, I've had F5 mapped to the scroll wheel on the mouse. So anytime I raise up my GFY window, I can just click to refresh. But lately, my fingertip has been hurting from over-refreshing. I think I may have burst a capillary or something. :helpme

hope I can just get some fingertip therapy and avoid having to get the surgery.

sure.... it stills scrolls. But alot of people don't realize that you can also click the scroll wheel. :winkwink:

tbabe 03-16-2004 07:03 PM

sounds serious. maybe take a few days off to rest up.

sumphatpimp 03-16-2004 07:05 PM

perhaps you should check the Workmans Comp. laws in Hawaii?
you may be eligible.

i use my arrows and mouse wheel thingy.

sometimes if i am sitting back twiddling my dinky while sipping a beer, i just click the mouse wheel down once and it allows the arrows to control the speed of scroll.

so I just sit back and twiddle away and scroll through your posts really slow.

map it to F5 bro... just try it out for a while. You'll never go back. :winkwink:

you can click the scroll wheel anywhere on the page to refresh, instead of dragging the cursor to the top everytime or hitting the F5 key all the time.

also, no need to do that really with the mouse.... just hit Scroll Lock once, and your arrow keys on the num pad work awesome for scrolling GFY.

it probly varies a little from brand to brand..... I have a Logitech optical, so for that just go to Control Panel and open Mouse Properties... the first screen has your "Quick Setup" and shows what your buttons are set at. Click the Device Setup button and you can choose what you want it to be.

Don't be fooled..... one of the options is "Universal Scroll".... if you pick something besides that, (like F5) it will still scroll, PLUS you get the button action out of it.

ah shit i had a logitech optical but got rid of it
I'm using a really ancient ARTEC but I like it because it is a really ergonomical design & it fits my hand perfect

damn
oh well NEw PC arriving tomorrow...
I'm gonna steal Fh's Logitech Optical :Graucho

Joesho 03-16-2004 07:27 PM

Man AMP sorry to hear about your misfortune, I will toke a cerimonial medicinal pipe for you, and you chant some ancient Hawaii or something, and we will see if that helps.. give me about ten minutes, then get naked on the beach, and start chanting and dancing around lets see if that will help.

reynold 03-16-2004 07:37 PM

was just goofing about the finger.... but I thought it was a clever way to pass along the info about the mouse.

did a thread about this last year I think too. It's one of those things that should be posted once in a while.... I know it made life easier for me since I discovered it a few years ago. :)

fuzebox 03-16-2004 07:49 PM

My scroll click already pastes whatever is on the clipboard...

Reading forums is a two handed operation though, left hand is poised above ctrl+w, ctrl+r, ctrl+t (tabs for mozilla), etc...

foolio 03-16-2004 07:53 PM

I just use the refresh at the top of the screen. I tried using the wheel click for stuff and never did like it.. no real reason why, just never got used to it.

yeah for real
I learnt it from an old hippy woman

just get some st johns wort and grow it
when the plant is kinda big just extract the oil form it
you can keep it a jar for years

it works on:
burns, cuts, bruises, sore muscles, athritis , aches, cramps

I used to sell it to a mate of mine who played football, his whole team started using it

do a google search on it

boardersweetie 03-16-2004 08:01 PM

That refresh trick is better than sex. I'll never go back.
