Fuck you all, what's REALLY killing the industry

OK maybe TGP really is killing the industry, but why is that happening? The reason is PAY PER SIGNUP.

Try making good cash with TGP galleries, $1 trials and REVSHARE. $0.50/signup that doesn't rebill? Sorry, you're not making jack shit.

PPS is just giving away money to people who don't really generate any substantial income to the sponsor, and taking away from those who do. Shaving, console hell and all that wouldn't be necessary if everyone just got their 60%. Maybe then there wouldn't be incentive to post 9 galleries of hardcore teen porn a day just so 1 freeloader will make you $78 from a free signup he cancels within a day.

/rant.

MetaMan 03-16-2004 01:20 PM

the industry is not being killed, the people that feel it is are uncreative losers who think like everyone else, every industry on earth is saturated and only the people with the most perseverence and creativeness survive. Adult online is no exception, people come onto the internet thinking they will be instantly successful, but just like everyone cant be a good doctor not everyone can be a good webmaster. :2 cents:

This industry miss of creativity right now ... Everybody is leading towards reality paysites because too many sites owner didn't update their sites enough to keep the surfers for couple months .

A lot of paysitse got sucky member aeras and such . recurring is better on the long run with a good site but with most sucky memeber aeras then it's worth nothing ... look at all the crappy plug-ins !

Misunderstood, starting from nothing, a shoestring budget and some free sponsor content will no longer be an option. You're going to need your own creatives, a good traffic budget and marketing skills.

$5 submissions 03-16-2004 01:32 PM

Free content does not have to kill the biz.

No I'm not dumb. My time=$$$. And since I don't take submissions, it eats alot of my time up. Hence, "shitty ROI".

I personally don't think the $10/month sites are a good idea. I've seen $6/month and $1/month (trial). Far to cheap IMO.

I'm still amazed at all the losers that get into the the online porn industry because they can't keep a regular job.

They think its easy money and they won't have to work.

They think they can take the same old used up free content, that every other loser is whoring out, and it will suddenly produce an income.

They spend five minutes making a page utilizing thier "massive marketing talent" and wonder why the next day they are not at the porche dealership buying thier first non-used car.

Like everything else, it takes "TIME", "MONEY" and "WORK"!

Most all have all the time in the world since no one will hire thier lazy ass.

Most have no money cause they can't hold a regular job.

Most think "work" is washing the fucking dishes after dinner, and only do it after mommy tells them three times to get it done!

Porn started the internet and without it the internet will die.

Porn will never die!

Long live the "true" adult webmasters.

All 100% true. This is a *business* and must be run like one, if you are to "make it".

Some people (actually most) are not cut out to be business owners and managers, and should stick to regular employment. The trick is knowing which one you are! :)

bret 03-17-2004 05:34 PM

by the way. free content does kill this business... you morons just don't realize the potential this industry has.

we have virtual crack at our disposal.

yet we arm our distributors with enough free samples to feed the world.

agreed, morons will still pay for "premium" usage, but those users are few and far between. the real money is in the daily junky.

paid submissions are no longer supplementing *GP site owners income. they make up for lack there of.

just like with any oversaturated market... the millions of free sites will die off. only the big boys will remain. the small guys can't afford to lose their ass forever.

around that time you will see alot of "webmaster" programs switching to private affiliate programs. at least the ones that plan to survive will.

Vick 03-17-2004 05:52 PM

While it's obvious we'd all generate more revenue if less free porn was easily available you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube .....

... what you can do is assess the situation and make the most of it

As far as PPS, Revshare and PPC, the real measure of earnings is RPC (Revenue Per Click) -
You send 100,000 clicks to program A and earn $2,000 = .02 RPC
You send 100,000 clicks to program B and earn $1,000 = .01 RPC

Doesn't matter what form they pay in, you have to get the most $

Know who you're doing business with, who will be around to make sure you get paid next week, month and year

and yes I have a gift for the obvious

Acutally you are wrong the real model is revenue per visit. How much are you making per surfer that visits your site.

Hmmmm .....

Was referring to how to measure programs you're sending traffic to with regards to PPS, Revshare and PPC

using a rev per visitor model would be for program owners or to see how cost effective traffic sources are

Or do you have a different idea in mind?

Inudstry being killed? Hardly. Its bigger than ever.

I'm one of the old dogs in here. Had adult businesses for 20 years now.

Out of all the businesses I've done, porn is the only one I never ever worry about making profits from year after year.
