I would like to start a credit reporting agency industry employee and executives database.
It would collect and freely share with consumers the various personal and financial information of anyone involved in credit reporting industry. It would use the various data to make assumptions as to their hobbies, beliefes, political stance, sexual preference & overall character based on this information. If they protest to anything we determine, it will just prove that what we reported about them is true. Yep. That will be a good database. |

most creditors will take a deal, normally about 50% of what is owed. just tell them you can pay half right then and there. no more or it's gonna take awhile to repay it. they want it so bad they'll take it, they'll just play a lil hardball. hang up if you have to, say you'll think about it. call back and say sorry half or less is all you can do. if you have the cash to make the deal then i say take it. i negotiated two deals like that that saved me over $2,500 |
426 baby! Beat that!
|
it just means you don't have bad things on your report. you can have a 750 score and still get declined for the smallest loan if you have no credit built up.

A collections agency screwed with mine... I had a bill that I couldn't pay while in college. It went to a collections agency who royally sucked.... and they demanded it all.
So I sent it in payments since by law, they have to accept it that way. But I guess they didn't like it so they stopped reporting my payments to the credit bureau. So basically, as far as my credit report knows, I have owed $2k for the past 3 years without making a payment.... despite it being fully paid off. So my credit is hurting because of it. Last I checked though, it was working it's way back up to 624 or so. |
where can i get mine online?

Can have the credit reporting agency call up your utilities and add those as tradelines too. =) |
Good thread.
I am wondering why WEBPOWER made a request for info on my report with Experian... Will look into it. Anyone know these companies: SEC Software Solutions Name Seeker Inc. ? Both in Florida where Webpower has offices. |

I was at 802 or so at 22.
Down to around 760 or so right now, due to my mortgage and car balances, blah. |

If the collection agency can't provide proof you're making payments, or an account history, the credit bureaus will wipe that from your report completely. =) Trick #11 of Drew's Credit Guide. |

drew: if it's removed it can still be re-added back, it's only off until the creditor responds back... theres a chance they will update their info at some point. |
is that good

And detoxed, I dunno if it's the same there as it is here, but by law here, they have to accept payments. They don't have a choice but to just take it and wait until the next month. |

On a side note, it shouldn't be affecting your credit that much, most lenders only care about the last 2 or so years of collections. Government loans usually don't even require payment of them, if they are over a year. |

does anyone know if visa check cards (debit) show up on your credit report? I don't even use credit cards anymore because I got this thing now. I don't like to have "virtual money".

My credit score is 776.
Damn someone got an 812 here? Shit that's the highest I've seen, congrats! |

I do underwriting for a mortgage company.
When i come across a file with horrid credit, even a past BK or forclosure, all we have to do is condition them for 3 tradelines verified for 12mo with satisfactory payments. it can be anything like a electric bill saying you had electric for 12mo and payed on time, etc. we lend to scores as low as like 520, but to get anything 90% or better you will need to have a score of atleast 600+ |
Just got mine, 756 :)

question for you credit experts... I had a lot of bad credit in 95 this year is now 7 years... will the credit issues be removed this year on their own, or is there anything I need to do to make sure it's removed as it's suposed to be gone after 7 years.

I just cleaned up my credit this year and found out something pretty cool. If you have any bad accounts that have been closed for a few months or more showing up on your credit report you can call the company that issued you the credit (name and number will be on the report) and ask them to verify your balance or address. Odds are that they will say that you are no longer in their system, on average you get removed from their system after 90 days of closing an account. If you aren't in their system anymore then all you have to do is log into wherever you got your online report and file a dispute for the that company. Just say that the adress is wrong or that you didn't miss that many payments, it doesn't matter since they will not be able to verify this so the information by law will have to be pulled from your report. I did this to three companies and it worked great, however one fall back is that these were my oldest accounts so by having those removed I lost alot of credit history which sucked since your score is highly based on the amount of years you have had credit. All in all though this raised my score between 25 and 40 ponits at the three different agencies. As for Crocketts question on the seven years.....I have no idea but this should work if it doesn't automatically come off. |
