thumbs.db

why does XP create this file every time i have thumbs or pics in a folder? it's like a hidden file but then gets uploaded each time i send folders to my server with WSFTP

these files get pretty big sometimes (300-400k) but they are useless in the galleries and take up server space for no reason... with thousands of galleries, this adds up to LOTS of wasted storage space

so i just manually delete them all and it seems fine...

anybody got some insight into these thumbs.db files?

change the look of your folders.

No more thumbs.db

Control panel -> Folder options -> View -> Check "Do not cache thumbnails"

Yea I get the same thing and it fucks up the backend so I have to search and delete the file when it gets uploaded! :(

when you have thumbnail previews in XP it creates the thumb.db...change the view like said before to list..speeds up dir browsing as well
