Yahoo Talks to the Webmaster Community Live this Thursday...

One of the newest team leads from Yahoo! and formerly of Inktomi and Fast Search & Transfer will be doing a Live Interview and taking questions from webmasters logged into the chatroom.

This is the first time for us to be able to get an indepth interview with someone from Yahoo! and we are very excited about it.

If you have questions about what is going on with Yahoo, this is the man to ask.

Tim Mayer is the Director of Product Management, Search Platform and Technology.

You really are not going to want to miss this show.

This exclusive interview airs this Thursday at 7pm EST on TAWRadio.com

This really is going to be good. This guy can talk organic SEO from the inside out having been on the inside for sooo long.

His story is unique and one that is worth a listen and one you will be able to indeed learn from.

playa 03-15-2004 04:36 PM

Will it be in Geek talk?

if so i'll need a translation

Some of it may but I would imagine that Tim will seek to try and answer everyone's questions (if he can) while making it easily understandable for as many listeners as possible. He has been on the lecture circuit for awhile, and is quite good.

will it be archived somewhere for people on weird timezones/with other commitments?

4Pics 03-15-2004 05:05 PM

Did anyone see the movie where they have the interview with the top guy from Nerv I think and they try to ask why they dont make their software open source and they end up answering something dumb like what type of soda is in the vending machines?

BradM 03-15-2004 05:06 PM

Yahoo apparently does have better quality traffic for some reason.

They showed briefly Live from Pubcon. We talked to Tim Mayer for about 3 mins, prefacing this Interview to come this week. Tim was with Inktomi and can obviously give us some sound insight into working with the engine.

We also talked to Dan Broberg of Overture. FOr those of you who have been around...Dan used to be GotoGuy at SearchEngineForums back in the day.

Dan will be coming back soon...buut this Thursday is the big indepth with Tim Mayer.

This promises to be a great time. Think about it...you would normally have to pay several hundred to $1400 if ya attended SES to hear this guy do a presentation.

You get him for an 1 1/2 hours this coming Thursday for free.
Thank VIVIDCASH, PSOBILL, ARS and GBSGateway...as they are our proud sponsors!

This is slated to be a very exciting show! For those of you who tuned in for our live coverage of PubCon; we did a full interview with Dan Broberg of Overture, Marshall Simmons of About.Com, and our teaser with Tim Mayer of Yahoo!

All of the above mentioned are scheduled to return, so, if you are interested in search engines, stay tuned to RainMaker!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Hey Marc...great questions man. I would encourage you to ask the hard questions. They are accustomed to getting their balls busted by some of the seasoned SEO's who do the lecture circuit as well.
So don't think you have to hold back with the hard questions.

We just ask that everyone be respectful to our guest so that he'll return! lol

Really, its an honor and a treat for us all...so do take advantage of it.

Marc P 03-16-2004 01:56 PM

I'll be there and I'll ask a few questions if there is time. See you thursday in the chat room, say hi to your wife for me please ;-)

Doctor Dre 03-16-2004 01:58 PM

You guys crack me up! lol

I know we're sure to have lots of lurkers for this show. But we'd love it if you all got into the chat room too! Show Yahoo that this does mean alot to you guys that they come and talk with us.

I mean, poll is at a whopping 70% now of webmasters into Meeting The Engines.

Says alot to me!

What do you mean?

I know there are a lot of unanswered questions. Hell, Webguerilla even started a thread at Webmasterworld for users to add questions for Yahoo where they will compile them in lists and then lock the thread and wait for someone for Yahoo to respond.

Luckily, we have the man with the plan coming to speak to us so we get a quick shit outta the gate.

So, if answering questions in what you mean...I agree! Should be good.

xxxjay 03-17-2004 01:26 PM

i'll have to check this out
