why do so many people sign up for affilate accounts and not use them at all... this is something i have always found this odd but why do you even bother signing up if your not gonna do anything with it?

well ive signed up for many that i dont promote actively or havnt begun to promote, sometimes i signup just to get inside the webmasters 'lounge' and see the quality behind the scenes which often determines weather or not i promote the program actively.

lots of newbies and wannabes.

if it is a experienced webmaster then maybe after they signed up they saw something they didn't like.

oh yeah i understand that and take that into a % but im saying for the other % that just takes the time to signup and does nothing with it...

I try and keep in touch with most of my affilates and this makes it a pain :)

I want to see

1) Whatcha got and is it worth promoting.
2) How detailed your stats area is.
3) Will your staff will spend time on small fish webmasters.
4) Simple curiosity.

The guy who sends nothing today might be the one who makes you rich tomorrow. The more the merrier, active (now) or not.

Sponsors need to be loyal to affiliates... not the other way around.

agree completly.. one of my affilates wasnt doing much before and now is doing quiet well :) i just like the personal touch with my affilates but it makes it hard when people just signup for shits and giggles..

its ok :) i send different content sets to every person :) but why did i do a camshow then for you lol

They sign up but the they don't get past the buying a domain name stage.

i have a few affiliates i havent sent anything to yet, because i'm busy trying to setup my other sites.

then there are some that i'm testing out:)

ive signed up with at least 75 adult and mainstream affiliate programs in the past 3 years, and i only promote like 2 :thumbsup

maybe they suddenly die in the process after signing up, chock on a sandwich or something

10-15% of ANYONE that signs up to your program wills end you traffic. fact.

it sucks i know

but thats what every program owner tells me and i see it first hand

90% of your join will come from 5% of your affiliates

heh i am signuped for like 3x the amount of sponsors that i actually used. i dont know why

I would think most signup to see what it looks like and for yours to get the free content sets :)
