Norton Antivirus

I use Norton Antivirus, latest version.
Is it me, or have you EVER seen this tool actually REMOVE infected files? Somehow it always quarantine and never cleans.
Keeps me wondering... :Hollering

I think you have to run the virus remover tools one by one ... not sure but at least it stops you from putting new viruses on your comp .

What I thought. And guessed. So actually Norton antivirus is only a protection tool. Protects and guards all the time. Not really a removal tool it self. Gotta download all those small dos viracheck tools one by one then!

This tool sucks then.
:(

I have Norton on a few stations, but TrendMicro Pc-cillin on my laptop.

PC-Cillin found stuff that Norton didn't ( yes, my virus definition was up to date ) ...

Yee, someone should note that the big boys are always the ones to be hit first. Like Microsoft holes etc. Like Norton then.
My laptop is dead now, cant even reinstall/update/whatever the norton. When I point the windows toolbar with my mouse, norton vanishes!

I'm done with Norton, I should go for a smaller player then. Like the ones you mention.

Can you run Norton and PC Cillin on the same computer? I have Norton but if it's not finding anything I will get PC Cillin too.

Yes, it only quarantines things for me too. Never has it removed anything.

Seems like it's a special virus or adware shit "DESIGNED" for Nortion it self.

I have to admit, yeah, perhaps believe it or not, I didn't know PC Cillin... but I will check this baby out. Thx.

Maybe, but by default PC-Cillin ask you to remove Norton to install itself. I never tried to bypass that ( I have it only on my laptop).

The other thing that is good is that your virus definition gets updated all the time, every hour or minutes. Norton live update is done once a week on the wednesday only, leaving you wide open to new viruses unless you update manually.

Thanks for the advice. I'm done with Norton - it didn't catch a couple of viruses on my 'puter lately - trying Penicillin now.
