Busted Car! Fuck Fuck Fuck!

Ok, so on Tuesday I am driving back from getting a bite to eat at Jack In The Box.....

I am cruising along, and BzzzZzZzzZzZ all of a sudden I hear a sound like a buzz saw.. My car stalls out, the power breaks, power steering goes out, and I start to panic like a motherfucker... I shut the car off immediately and push the car up into a gas station driveway with the help of a courtious passerby..

I pop the hood, and motherfucker! I spun a timing belt, the shit snapped a tension pully and cut through the plastic casing and wrapped up over the head..

I called a tow truck and had them tow me over to the Firestone that had JUST done my water pump and timing in December..

I leave it there and return the next morning.. They say "Oh wow, yeah we'll take care of you" HAH! So I go back and they say that some shit might not be their fault.. Bullshit I say.. they just worked on it, they should have made sure everything was A-FUCKING-OK! So I get a bit upset and say they better fix it.. And they said they would work with me as much as possible to right the situation..

Tomorrow is the day they say it should be fixed.. Once they get a seized pully fixed, and put the tension pully back on, they will see if my valves are fucked up.. If they are, the car is toast..

So I went looking for a new car to be safe..

But at any rate.. Im here now.. On a motherfucking weekend, without a car.. And Im bored as fuck..

So this is the car I'm prolly gonna be getting.. Just thought I'd share with you all... Tell me what ya think.. Also what you think about what the people say about "its not our fault bullshit"

Its a decent ride.. don't need anything fancy yet.. still trying to save my money for more important shit like a house...

yeah a timing belt breaking must really suck. hope there was no engine damage. what kind of car was it anyways

piker 03-12-2004 11:33 PM

I had the same problem with a firestone here. But, not to that magnitude. The jerks did my brakes backwords 3 months later I find out I've been driving around with the rear brakes not working properly. Needless to say I was not pleased and will never take my car to firestone ever again.

It was a 1995 Dodge Stratus, was a hand me down from my parents when I got out of their house about 5 years ago... So I cannot complain much.. Has about 118,000 miles on it.. It has lasted well.. but I was not done beating the shit out of it yet...

I knew I was gonna need a new car soon.. just not this soon.. lol

Brat 03-12-2004 11:33 PM

Loryn 03-12-2004 11:34 PM

It sucks that your car broke, but at least now you'll have a new car. I like change. :)

Yeah, I would never go back.. I prolly never will unless its for a simple oil change or tires...

I've been going there over 3 years now.. so they want to take care of me they say to keep me coming back..

I hope they live up to their word..

Late december.. Along with the water pump.. I kept the car up VERY well..

iwantchixx 03-12-2004 11:37 PM

never buy a car that uses BELTS for valve timing,

You have a case, there should be a warranty statement on the bill from December. I wouldn't let up until they replace the engine, that's why they have insurance.

It's not our fault = We know this will be expensive

Yeah dude.. I totally think you are right.. I said to him "wtf man, you say its not your fault buy your going to repair it with no labor charge? That to me sounds like your ass is at fault"

and he changed his tune and said "well lets just play it by ear, I'll get the timing working, then we'll see about your valves, and go from there" Lol.. he said he wasnt trying to be a jerk or an asshole, and said he wanted to "help" me.. lol so I said ok well I'll be back to check on it here and there..

Anyways.. What to you guys think of the car above? I test drove it and it was really good midsize car.. Its rated as the most wanted car of 2004 by edmunds.com

Looking to get a killer deal on it since I know a dealer at the mazda lot...

reynold 03-12-2004 11:44 PM

Nice car! I think that's expensive.

iwantchixx 03-12-2004 11:47 PM

We have places as bad as that in Canada..but worse. It's called, Canadian Tire. They fuck EVERYTHING up. Go in for a new fuel pump, leave with a failed safety due to a ruptured gas tank... Guess who offers to replace the tank for a "great price" /

exspamr 03-12-2004 11:47 PM

dont get a 3 they are overpriced... get an srt4 if you want something new

Surprisingly under $20k I'm hoping to get it for around $16,000

iwantchixx 03-12-2004 11:49 PM

You really can't go wrong with a Mazda. It's made by Ford so you know the craftmanship is great.. but since Mazda is the're smaller division their prices reflect it. All in all you get a pretty reliable car that is American made with Japanese styling and lasting qualities. Win-Win situation.

I'm not even sure if my Golf uses belts for timing... good thing I bought a shop manual for it the other night.
